I worked as a mechanic in a VW Dealership in Stroudsburg, Pa. in the late 70's, and this was their "parts runner." I believe it was a 4 door crew cab, but very similar. When the owner retired they sold it for 400 bucks - inspected, running and driving. Always regretted not getting my hands on that one, I did have a '57 bug, and a 71 bus. Another home run video; keep on keeping on, brother!

Mate - keeper for ever, the body needs a little but this is probably your best find. 2.7 in there, after market brakes - couple of torches up front - daily it - Must keep the commercial plate

Yous the real deal, Master of Disaster. True VW Lover, Thank you. I learned how to drive, in a 1973, VW Super Beetle, wit da Automatic stick. No clutch, 😛low ,1,2,3, I think had ,3rd gear. I had a 66 , Square back, 71 Beetle, and a nother early 70s BUG, can't member. 🤪🤫💞

It looks like the original paint !!!!!!!! Even Musti doesn't have one of those. Worth every penny. Stop working on everything else and go see your buddy that does the restoration work and make the truck like showroom new!

Love the old VW trucks. Rather drive them than a beetle any day. Nice score! Please put your eyewear on when airing up those old tires. More than once I have had an old tire sidewall explode, even at low pressure. I was glad to have my eyes covered. Took me quite awhile to clean the dirt out of my ear one time.

Dear Dubwerks. This double cab made me think about the Mustie1 double cab. The car was almost finished a lot of years ago and is sitting since then. Simply because of the fact that M1 hates all the sanding/prepping work (I definitely don't like it too). But because you are an expert the following came to my mind: Wouldn't it be a great thing respectively a great collaboration if you finish and paint his double cab? Of course in exchange for work he does for you or 5150mxVW. Or in exchange for parts or whatever. It almost hurts me to remember the unfinished car. So much work has already gotten into it. Dear 5150mxVW "J". 🙋 👍👌👏 Nice find, Congratulations 🎉 In my personal opinion the VW double cab is the most useful/versatile type of the VW bus family. Just like all the double cab pickup trucks in North America. I really hope that the engine is okay and was only taken out because of the restoration process. I don't know if you own an engine stand but I certainly hope so. Although a first start can be done while the engine is sitting on the bed of the double cab, an oil change would be quite difficult (unless you have a really big rust hole in the bed surface). 🙈😁 2) It is quite impressive how much detailed knowledge Dubwerks has. Kudos. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.

Have not watched the whole thing, but have you noticed yet the OG color is DOVE BLUE?!?! Haha. My favorite color. So GD lucky you are. Haha. Congrats. I found my ‘62 DC in 2000. I felt the same way you guys did. Stoked! Did you get the gates? Very lucky it has the 2 year only front “hump back” front seat and the original rear seat and seat base stand! Those are very hard to find and rare. Congrats and looking forward to seeing more.
