I have multiple ThruNIte units GP and you are correct they are incredible. One thing I’d mention is how incredibly durable they are. I have had many accidents all my fault and the light is built like a tank. The build quality it’s simply amazing and that’s definitely worth a mention. Nothing is even close or compares. I have the direct competition as well in CREE. Not even remotely close to ThruNite I hope you enjoy it. Mine are over 3 years old now not a single issue and well used.

I remember trouble lights much less fondly. I did not mind them so much when screw in non-incandescent bulbs became available.

Good evening Gord, thanks for sharing this information with us. Trouble lights are correctly named for sure. Definitely TROUBLE, got burned many times using the trouble lights while working outside on vehicles, those were still great days. Stay safe and keep warm. Fred.

Nice review GP - I have 4 headlamps from the Army days, 1 in the tool box, 1 in the bathroom, 1 in the kitchen and 1 in the truck - speaking of trucks, clean the leaves out from under the hood lol. I'll look into the THRUNITE for ice fishing now. Cheers and stay safe

Oh that's really nice. I really like how wide that field of light is. I have a head mounted unit that I don't use because the light is too focused, and not broad enough to be useful. I will check these out as I am getting older as well, and routinely notice that seeing better is a lot safer. Thank you Gord.

Interesting light. I first started using a headlamp snowmobiling at night. Great for problems on the trail when you needed to look under the hood. I lost my light and my Dremel tool at the same time. I offered them to my daughter when she was trimming the dogs nails. I have not seen them since and that was about 9 years ago.

LOL!! Great idea to carry it with me on sled trips. Thanks BG! And -sorry you lost it...if you have a daughter, I am pretty sure you have "lost" a few other things along the way. For some reason, they liked Dad's stuff...:))

I think most people would enjoy that light, it's nice and bright. I had the same model as the older one you have but I didn't like it. I prefer a light with a magnet, hook and or a swivel that I can place or attach in the area that I need to see.

Great video Gord. Recently moved to a smaller town, and still getting use to the much colder and darker winter, the value of a good flashlight is critical. Not to mention I kinda have a thing with flash lights so having probably double than what I need seems just right to me.

Looks like another great product GP. I’ll have to check it out, love head lamps, got them everywhere. Your right about the ole trouble lights, they just collect dust now. I got 2 in the shop, one on a reel from the ceiling and never use them anymore. Thanks for the Video .👍

Hmmm you have a small gold mine with that trouble light Gordon. Cut the wire off if it’s and use it for something else. Meaning being is I needed a small piece of romex wire. 12-2 for a small project. I bought 15’ piece it cost me $27.53 cents at Lowe’s almost $2.00 a foot. Inflation is unreal! Cheers my friend.

Hi Scott. Great question - I only used it that one day getting the tractor ready for winter. So I can't say to be honest. So far so good though.

I purchased 2 of these, had a problem with them getting very hot, response from ThruNite - You must monitor the heat of the light with your bare hands during operation. If the light becomes too hot to hold at the hottest area then you must turn down 1 or more level or OFF for the light to cool down. The hottest area is usually around the head of the light. - Hopefully this version has resolved this problem.

Hey Sherpa. Great feedback. That was a key area I kept checking during the testing. The other handheld got so hot you could not hold it but this one gets warm but has not become hot such that I could not hold the head. However it sits away from your forehead so I never felt the heat. Also I noticed the instructions say not to run it on it's max setting for more than 10 minutes. Hope that helps. Cheers!

w00t! Trouble lights, *_ ...nothing but trouble!!! _* I can't count the number of times that I burnt my forearm on one with the a metal shroud that I inherited from my dear old dad, or how many times I had to stop what I was doing and go get a fresh light bulb when it dropped off of where it was hooked. Pretty sure that I sent that monster to the dump in the '80s.
