Okay, WOW, the tint stuff with the Color Guide is absolutely mindblowing! I was just applying tints by making something the global color and using the slider, but having swatches is awesome AND having a way to automate swatch production is INCREDIBLE!

Thanks Kate. The shading part going to the right in Color Guide is pretty good too.

I've really been enjoying your videos, thank you! I have a further question on the Colour Guide: why do the Tints to the right always have the triangle for Global Colour, yet Shades to the left do not? I know it's easy enough to make it a Global Colour, but I've often wondered why a Shade isn't automatically Global.

I think it’s because on the shades it’s changing the color break by adding percentages of black to each level. So it’s not the same color. Tints are just percentages of an existing color. That is why I don’t really use that part of the feature. I prefer mixing my own shade colors myself which I cover in other videos like ‘Creating Highlight and Shading Detailing.’ Thanks for watching Jane.

@@PPLLUVProcess Ah, that makes sense; I should have just thought about it a bit more! Yes, I've picked up some tricks with colour and shading since watching your videos and have actually seen my colouring improve. I suppose I ought to have commented and said thank you, but I tend to think I've got nowt (that's my northern English accent word for "nothing") interesting to say. I did buy lots of your brushes with my birthday money though 👍🏼 I'm even managing to use them too 😂😂

Is it possible to create shade swatches in the same manner? Would be great to be able to use the Color Guide to do the same with shades.

Yes. If you look at the Color Guide on the red I colored the art with it creates shade values going to the left. Think percentages of black added to each level. I never use that myself. I prefer mixing my own and using the multiply blend mode instead.
