We’re living in an era when technological improvements coupled with miniaturization and battery efficiency allows for new models to outdo their previous models in a span of a year! I’m still learning the ropes of my Mini 3 Pro, my mirrorless Nikon, and lo and behold, a newer and significantly better model just popped up😲 If anyone is just waiting to jump in, don’t wait or you’ll forever be on the fence😄

Well said - if your waiting because newer better models are being developed... you will be waiting forever. All the Air 3 "waiting for the S" folks... I generally get 90% of my cost back on Ebay a year out, its accessories I lose on, lol.

I'm in the same boat,I think we air 2s flyers are being punished and left behind, my air 2s does everything I want it to do, but I would certainly want waypoints, I don't want to have to upgrade because all the new drones are built in very thin plastic and does not feel as solid as the air 2s does, plus excellent in the wind and video/pic quality is far superior if you know your settings, but I must say I'd like to add the mini 4 pro to the group, thanks Russ for another very informed video.

Need waypoints for my air 2s . Can’t get much money out of a used Air2S to be able to upgrade for very few upgrades . I have so many accessories for my drone I probably have 2 grand in it now. Not worth taking a huge loss just to upgrade for things I won’t really use anyway. But way points would be cool

I was going to buy a used one as I usually do with most DJI products. For the first time, I decided to bite the bullet and buy it brand new about a week ago. I wish I had just done this six months ago. I have only put four batteries through it, but I am loving it. Thanks for all the great videos. Looking forward to learning how to use it even better. This is my fifth DJI drone and I think it is my favorite. I have previously owned the original Mavic mini the air 2s the mini 3 pro and a inspire 1 thx russ🎉🎉🎉

Okay, here's my controversial hot take on this drone. First of all, thank you very much for making this video. So here it goes, this drone has a feature that I have been waiting for on all my other past DJI drones. One of my biggest issues I've had with my past drones is that whenever I selected myself for the Drone to track, it would automatically fly to about 9 or 10 ft above me, and then it would start tracking/following me. This would always get super annoying because it was the stereotypical Drone footage angle that everyone could tell was being shot by a drone. I understand that DJ I did this because it was a safety feature for vehicles and humans getting in the way of the drone. Also made your footage look horrible whenever you attract someone, or track yourself. It wasn't that typical camera footage of someone recording you at chest level like what you see in movies or on television. So when the Drone flew at nine or ten feet, it looked absolutely horrible. The newly designed focus tracking option "Near ground flight", FINALLLY means you get get the natural camera angle as if someone is holding a high end hand held DSLR and recording you! I LOVE THIS! But it doesn't end here. Another issue I had was when you selected yourself for the Drone to track Not only would it start flying about 3 or 4 ft above you, but it would also distance itself from you wallet tract you. Again, another safety feature, I understand. But now, having the ability to adjust snd bring the drone closer to you while it follows/tracks you makes this drone so valuable. This drone, because of those updates to adjust the height and tracking distance to the subject, has essentially voided the cameraman that has to follow you as a creator. This drone just fired your second employee. INSANE. I am still going to get the mavic 3 Pro, but I am sure these features will also come in a firmware update in a couple of months. I'm totally fine with waiting. I need the video quality of the mavic 3 Pro, but I need the tracking features of the Mini 4 Pro. Good job DJI!

Glad they finally added waypoints but geez, Parrot had that feature, ran it on my old Bebop 2, and it was full featured like using Lichi, YEARS ago…albeit without obstacle avoidance…but meh, you had to seriously plan…and the interface was nifty….just sayin’

+1 on Care Refresh. Used it on my Mini 3 Pro. Express exchange arrived 2nd day. DJI general repair service is great as well. Mishap with my 4-year old Mavic 2 Pro. $88 got me a new Mavic 2 Pro which I was then able to purchase a 2-year Care Refresh plan for! SCORE!

I was going to hold out to get the Mavic 3 Pro. However, I think I’m going to grab the Mini 4 Pro. I know the Mavic 3 Pro is a superior drone, but for travel and for what I fly for, I feel the Mini 4 Pro would do me the best. The Obstacle avoidance is key for me. I had a tree jump out and whack my Mini 3 Pro. I also learned that the Care Refresh is critical for these guys. Equally amazed at the response from DJI on receiving the replacement drone. Well done review and thank you for your thoughts and in-depth testing. Now I just need to wait for the year-end bonus to get here so I can buy this guy. 😂

I have the air 3 and mini 3 pro so will just get base spec as I have the upgraded controller and extra batteries from my fly more mini 3… just a shame they don’t just do a drone only package. Happy flying everyone

Isn't it great to see where the drones launch piont is on the screen. The colors are so sweet. Still flying the Mini 2. H a ha. Switched to the Maven Lite that offers the same feature. I am a retired truck driver and I have been accused of buying toy drones. Well maybe to a point, yes. However, the Mini 4 looks like something I would really be interested in and the price point seems reasonable. That it can take Mini 3 batteries is a huge plus pushing me to purchase. The "toy " accusation came from a photo I posted on my Facebook page of Balancing Rock on the Colville Reservation. I explained, it's a tool more than a toy. The road to the rock was not car friendly, it was 90 degrees in semidesert country with no cell signal; it was a half mile walk, with a 400' elevation gain and in the over half an hour I was parked on the main road, I saw exactly two cars. At 72, flying an Air 2S to the rock made more sense.

The Mini 4 Pro is certainly much more than an incremental upgrade from the Mini 3 Pro! I received the Mini 3 Pro from my wife as a combo Christmas/Birthday gift. I'm really torn between upgrading to the Mini 4 Pro vs. keeping the Mini 3 Pro and adding a Mavic 3 to my collection! Decisions, decisions!

Always get new insights and clear, understandable knowledge from your content Russ. I'm seriously vacillating between the M4Pro and the Air3 upgrade from a M3Pro atm. Both of your vids on these are compelling. Size/weight might become my deciding factor as I live inside a controlled airport authorisation zone and there are even more, including non-controlled and heliports, and military restriction zones in a relatively short distance. I think it should be mentioned that this drone, as well as the AIR 3, do not come with a charger, the part that connects to the outlet. Many posts on forums of people frustrated with not having the appropriate charger when they get the drone or not having one at all. I appreciate DJI bundling the fly more combo with he drone, but it seems the fly more combo is getting less and less items (charger & ND filters.) Please mention this so people are aware and even recommend a suitable charger....
