There is no reason for a drone to "loiter" over your property unless it is gathering information. So I can see granting easement for navigation and transit across the airspace, but can see no reason to grant drones or any other other aircraft "loitering" rights in my airspace. The FAA should make the distinction.

This is about scaring us into more federal regulations. Drones are very effective against a government and their military. Anything that can threaten their power and control, they need to heavily regulate it. This will be about tracking citizens' drones under the guise of safety.

Case law on this is evolving. The FAA regulates aviation. They have defined drones as aircraft and are authorized by law to make that definition. That being said, the FAA does not overrule the US constitution where the right to privacy is enshrined. Keep flying over people's yards shooting video and the laws will evolve to where you can't fly drones anywhere other than over your own property.

4:50 I'm but sorry... but that peeping tom is getting pinned down to the ground until the cops arrive or at the minimum run off the property. The drone will just see what it wants and leave, never to be seen again. So either it's getting shot down, or a net gun of some sort to impound it. The problem is, netting a drone doesnlt have legal protection, and if there's a net, it's obvuous what was being done. If the drone is shot down, well people do target practice and use guns for defense. So... if you want to have nice things, ask for permission to enter people's space, or campaign for netting drones to be legalized, so that if you as the operator mess up by not getting permission, your drone isn't completely screwed

As a responsible drone operator, you better ask people for permission to fly over their property, because if people push their luck, we're going to end up losing a lot of freedom

Why don't you do a video on numbers related to the unlicensed, irresponsible, uneducated, drone operators that are not following the laws set in place. I loaned my sister my Delta 2 when we both had a power outage this past summer. Being in an apartment, a generator was never an option. Hey Russ, I actually saw a post on Facebook that was supposedly a conversation between a couple pilots and a tower about the drones they were seeing. Either they don't use call signs in Oregon or it was fake.

I bought a Delta Pro with solar after Hurricane Irma. I put it in the closet fully charged and it has held full charge for over a year. I pulled it out to use it for small local power outages and it's been great. I also used it during Hurricane Ian when we were without power for two weeks to keep small electronics charged up.
