Grab your popcorn and ride with me 😊. I wanted to mention that the Amtrak crew that I rode with was absolutely amazing. From the lead diner, the person who was in charge of the dining hall. She was absolutely amazing. She kept everything in order. The guy that was in charge of my car he was awesome. Always check to make sure if I needed anything. Finally, the guy who ran the café. He was super nice and humble. He gave out free chips and pizza to the people in the economy class who couldn’t afford the meals on the train. I absolutely loved the crew. And even though there were ups and downs along the way, I would do that ride all over again and I think if you want to experience it, you should. Lastly, thank you to the conductor and the maintenance crew for getting us to our destination safely. Yes, there were maintenance issues along the way, but the most important thing is we made it safely.

Gggirrrllll, I felt every bit of that tunnel with ya. 😂 You aren't the first person I have heard reviewing that the American trains leave something to be desired. For lack of cleanliness and that the rocking being utterly insane. God bless you, Nomi. You really took one for the team on this adventure, and you suffered battle wounds to boot 🤣😂😎

I’ve taken that same trip. The freight companies own the tracks, so the freight trains have the right of way. That always makes the train late. We took the train from the Bay Area to Reno and were 4 hours late.

Some years ago I took that same train but I did round trip from Chicago to San Francisco and back to Chicago. I took the trip by myself because my husband had recently died and I took my brand new (at the time) Kindle loaded with a bunch of books and when I got tired of watching the beautiful scenery (though I seldom did that) I could read for a while. I also took side excursions to Las Vegas, where I saw Terry Fator who had recently won America's Got Talent, and to the Grand Canyon. Amazing! You are in for a great trip.

Dramamine is great for motion sickness, you should keep it in your back pack when traveling, you never know when the sickness comes on either boats, planes trains. It would help you sleep as well. What a great video, I always wondered what it was like on Amtrack across the country! If you take another train trip you should see about being closer to the dining room!

Then at night we will each have our own sleep quarters. I love watching your videos! Thanks for sharing your journey over the years.
