I’ve used FS patch leads cut in two, LC ones, then direct into SFP, saves a joint. Also had issues with cold conditions and stripping fibre too, in a field with Cows!

I think i'm going to try a lighter next time I saw someone else do it in the field. It's like the jacket adheres to the cladding of the fiber in the manufacturing process.

great videos. nice work. do you have any plans to deploy XGS PON or will they stay on GPON for a while?
@briceperdue7587 Жыл бұрын
We are deploying a GPON aside a metro 10G connection. With having 90+ fibers on a build we can really leverage the outside plant.

Well at least Comcrap has a line amp to feed the building. I've seen them replace the line tap with something ultra-hot and cascade a bunch of 6 ways to feed a building :)

Loved the longer video! What was the blue tool you used to take the sheaf off the fibre?
@briceperdue7587 Жыл бұрын
Jonard flat drop stripper and without it takes so long with knife.

I've really enjoyed your videos. Keep them coming! For your customer drops, (11:39) is that just a mechanical connector on a flat drop fiber? If so, which connectors do you guys use for your GPON customers vs. a DIA customer? I'm assuming DIA/AE customers would get a spliced jumper?
@briceperdue7587 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for that question. It's a premade cable in this case and a SC\APC cable for GPON. For our DIA and Metro customers we use a LC APC connection the customer's optic is typically we run a 1 fiber BIDI system 1310\1490

For your GPON sites what typically for an uplink do you give them for X houses or apartments like 10G or more? I've always been curious.

Guarantee they don't need more than 1 gig. Most people don't use more than 30 meg at a time

Wheres the pride in your work, that termination box install is poor. Not securing the (what we call slippery fish cable) 12F incoming properly using its strength members, not even tighting the grommet for the pigtail etc etc, I certainly wouldnt be happy with an install like that

Well we are hiring if your interested.
