What's better FX Impact M3 or FX Maverick

It really boils down to personal preference. Both these guns are able to shoot just as well as the other. It really is a hard choice for me some days but if I had to pick just one right now it would probably be the Maverick.

I agree with, pretty much, everything you said. I think the Impact is probably a slightly better tool if you're into benchrest competitions. But, if you're "Joe Typical" (which most of us are) out hunting small to medium game, or plinking, either gun fits the bill. Not to mention, the price of the Maverick makes entry into the FX world a little easier for folks on a budget while providing similar performance.

Brilliant bit of myth busting! The Maverick is a simpler gun that has all the power of the impact if set up right and can be set up to shoot any pellet or slug out there at the same power levels as an Impact. The only bonus with the M3 is its marginally easier to fine tune if you use multiple ammo types through it. The other bonus with the Maverick is fewer seals to diagnose if your do get a leak.

I am currently researching, shopping, and trying to decide what to purchase for my first air rifle. I was stuck on the Impact just because it seems a great piece of equipment. Okay, for the efficiency of the Maverick (which is more important to me) and the lower price point, I would go with the Maverick. The capabilities and performance of these two, for what I would use them for, are far too similar to not save about $400 on the price. I’ve actually got an MKII Impact with 600mm in .22. Love the compact version too tho. Seriously thinking about switching up. These superior liners absolutely love the Barracuda Match 21.14’s in the 5.52 head size and the BC will surprise you. I think it’s more than the .039 that they state. Zeroed at 35yds (top of the trajectory curve for my set up) and @905fps, I’m only experiencing a 3.5 mil drop at 100yds. And they are laser accurate.

I just bought a new Maverick I was told to shoot 500 shots at factory settings the 2nd reg is set around 110 bars the p.w. Is set at 6 is that really close to factory settings? Someone tell me ok ???

Outstanding thanks . im looking something less powerful than the 22lr (ricochet worry) im trying for a 22grain .22 slug @ 999 fps so roughly 50% of the lr energy. Is this practical/possible with both guns ? It will be the sniper version. And likely the maverick Thanks for your time and help.

Another great video and couldn't have said it better. Although I don't own a impact I have a 177 maverick and a 22 sniper maverick. I do want a 25 wildcat mk3 than my barrel systems will be interchangeable between them. I also have a 22 dream pup and all are fantastic shooters!!!

I have an Impact MK2 and the fervor created made me consider, just for a moment, getting the Maverick as well so as to 'cover all bases' until one realizes that there are quite a few really good airguns, and new ones as well, on the market today. Another point for the impact is that the action is not under your ear, compared to the maverick/wildcat where the action is right onder the cheekrest. This can get loud when you crank the power and in my case when you have an awkwardly positioned nightvision that forces your ear closer to the cheekweld. Also the cocking lever on the impact is waaay more easy to reach without letting go of the grip

I would be happy with either one. They both beat the piss out of my hatsan At-44. I like my gun and have no problem taking rabbits at 65 yards but the shot count sucks 2 10 round mags and iam pumping back up. Plus I wish I could get the velocity to shoot slugs.

Yeah, it's another universe. I got an AT-44 about ten years ago, as my first venture into PCPs (was a springer shooter for years before that) and was utterly disappointed with my particular one. I took another chance with Hatsan after that (BT65 in .25) which is actually extremely accurate up to 80ish yards and massively powerful (although very low shot count). But the first push of the charging handle on an FX is something magical. I think that any of the FX modular platforms are all the gun you'll ever need.

Mav is cheaper than impact also less orings and easy to tune. Impact have fine tune capability and much more but not easy to tune like maverick. for first airgun buyers like me Then maverick is best dicision anytime. But for experts tuners and self repairers can go with impact.after all impact is the king of all airguns.

I have a Maverick.30 and an M3 ordered. Both are great guns. UPDATE : After a year or so of owning both, I will say this. Both cloverleaf at 50 yards with the tune Utah Airguns put on them, so I have not tinkered with tunes at all. I like the location of the safety much better on the Impact. Other than that, I’m very pleased with both rifles.

You would think that the maverick would be a little bit more powerful than the impact because the plenum on the maverick is slightly larger what are your thoughts about the Maverick having a bigger plenium?

The plenum adds to greater efficiency, but the valve adjustment is where the Impact gets that little extra poof.

I have an RWS career 707 now. And looking to upgrade to I think an FX series so I just am watching a ton of these videos to see which one I actually want. Either way, would you say start with the shorter barrel for 100 yards or under. Will the shorter barrel still place a pellet into a pellet at 40 to 60 yards . I have a .35Cal M3 w 4x16 FFP Element... was looking for a lower caliber 3rd so I was on the fence with a Maverick vs just another Impact M3 Also please note the M3 .35Cal cannot use existing interchange kits.... as it is higher powered ... ( 35 Cal M3 maybe the upward compatibility M3 )

I have a couple airguns, AEAPro Challenger. 30 cal Aea Hp semi auto carbine. 30 cal The thing I liked about Fx was the fact it had 124 FPE and can put out 105 shots at that FPE.. BUT they're really expensive, so if I bought one or any, I'd want it to not be so long it can't get out of its own way! Do you have any Ideas? .30 cal FPE AROUND 120 SHOTS 90 plus ON full power. Plus I liked how they have mags that hold 20 plus in that cal

There is no proven difference in accuracy between 500-600-700mm barrels! The 500mm might be harder to tune for accuracy but that’s it. Barrel length vs accuracy is a myth that has long been busted

Any suggestions on tuning? I have a mav compact .25 and cannot get my gun to shoot over 640fps. I’m not sure what’s going on. Got my front reg at 170-180 and last reg at 150. Power level 7…

Your rear reg is probably a little high for the stock hammer. Lower it to 100 bar and start shooting in 5 bar increments till you find a good speed. If that doesn't work set your hammer screw out to 5.6mm

Do you have access to a airgun shop? I'd suggest going to one and holding on to the airguns. Any of the ones you listed are fine airguns for sure.

I find it strange the obsession with high power in air rifles , for me the advantage of a pcp air rifle is that it is less powerful and can be safey used in areas where a rimfire can't , which rifle do I have ? , the maverick , there is less to go wrong and it has more than enough power to do the job

Ultimately it’s putting yeah shot on the dot and bearing that in mind then the must buy is a HW100T, a whole lot less trouble and far more accurate…well that’s certainly the case here in the UK…The FX are terrible on their valves… what with creep and I must admit to breaking a smile when he said he required a valve housing for his impact. Over here in the UK we refer to the FX as expensive trash. Maybe down to the sub 12ft regulation but the valves are often having to be replaced due to failure…creep.

My 1st pcp air rifle was a Benjamin Marauder GenII in .25 cal Green Mtn barrel. Very accurate to 100 yards. I thought it was expensive at the time 🤔. I now have two Impact MKII'S one in .22 and one in .25 cal. Both have 700mm barrels. I also have two Benjamin Kratos. One in .22 and one in .25 cal. Also a Benjamin Akela in .22 cal. I bought a few break barrels all in .22 cal. BOTTOM LINE BUY AN IMPACT. ALL THE OTHER ONES ARE OK BUT THEY JUST COLLECT DUST NOW.

Wildcat and the Maverick are actually more powerful than the impact because they have a larger plenum to draw from and they can be tuned to higher velocities the impact is more of a fine-tuned Precision piece that is more expensive they all do the same job it just all depends on how big of a narcissist you are and how much you want to have something better than the next guy I have both I speak from experience not just blowing smoke up your you know what

Impact is hands down better for many reasons. I got one of the very first Mavericks and sold it the very next day. If you never had an Impact before then this video is very informative but still difficult to appreciate how much better the impact is without actually owning one, if you have an impact then just skip the maverick.

Well, you answered multiple questions, but the big one wash how much energy does it take to dispatch a squirrel. 6 ft#. I've been bouncing between a .22 and a.25 and in my case I need the range to cap those darn things effectively, about 100 yards. Oh the decisions but the Maverick is on the top of my list in either caliber.
