Being a lifetime member and going through my own current “walking on water” trials . Your story here of the Cardinals deeply touched my heart. I was rooting for you to see one and when you did, and you dropped to your knees, I dropped to my knees too… so to speak. Thank you for sharing that one. Personally I really needed it. I don’t doubt the church, but my current trials sure are heavy right now… Wouldn’t change it for the world! I love how we bless each other in this church!

A stepping stone of Faith. Heavenly father is always looking for excuses to bless us, anytime we even reach out a little he "Reaches for [our] reaching". Speaking of: next time you drop by Utah, I've got a Provo temple rock for you. 52 years, tens of thousands of missionaries' prayers answered, and (probably) the appearance of the Lord.

You know, I will further support you about the cardinal miracles you've experienced! The Book of Mormon teaches that all things upon the Earth witness of God. Alma 30:44 God uses his creations upon the Earth for his purposes and to do his will. I'd say your experience with the cardinals is comparable to what the Bible teaches. God used the birds as a sign of significant things happening, a way of leading to safety, and a way to talk to you in a way that you can relate to and that has great meaning to you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony! Nature and its beauty, diversity, complexity, and life is a testimony of God! ❤

Like you David, I also have come from a Protestant background at age 25 I ran into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, joined, went on a mission, and have fed my faith almost every day by prayers, reading, attending church, and experiencing the Holy Spirit and revelations in so very many wonderful ways, I truly cherish my relationship with Jesus Christ. Now at 73 and the opportunities that I occasionally take to reflect on my membership in His True Church, I am overwhelmed with gratitude beyond my ability to express, the deep joy and love that has companioned me on this journey. I love it❤️🙏

When you talk about your Cardinal experiences I'm always reminded of what it says in 2 Nephi chapter 31 verse 3: "... For the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding." God understands the intricacies of your mind better than anyone else. He knows how to make things happen that will direct your mind where it needs to go, regardless of how silly they might seem at times. Who can deny that God works in mysterious ways ❤ Thanks for sharing your conversion process with all of us 🙏

I also am a new convert and was baptized the next weekend after you did yours. I also come from a protestant background, and what has helped me when the doubts come in is the love that I feel for the church and the Book of Mormon, that in itself is big. I had head knowledge before but not the love for all humans that I have now. I too have so much to learn and am taking it one day at a time. Thank you David, you gave me the courage to jump...I did alot of research especially the history of the church and spent alot of times with the missionaries asking questions. ❤😊

I love seeing your journey! One thing I learned from my father (who was an institute/religion instructor for the church) is that there is a difference between doubt and questions. Questions are necessary for our growth and learning. Without questions, we don't get answers. When I was a teen and had a lot of my own questions, my parents both told me "You're right on schedule! This is what you should be doing. We want you to have questions!" Why? Because it showed I was taking ownership of my faith. But most importantly, their confidence in my ability to learn the truth for myself gave me confidence that the answers were out there and not some great mystery I could never understand. I knew that if I studied and searched and prayed and stayed close to the Spirit and strong in my relationship with God, I would learn and gain the understanding I lacked. Don't doubt, but be believing that God will (and WANTS) to reveal the truth to you and that he can if you are asking, seeking, and knocking with REAL intent.

I am not a regular viewer of KZbin channels, but happened to stumble on one of your original posts when you were visiting churches of a variety of religions. I found that your visits were mainly in Wisconsin, and since my wife and I served as Mission Leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wisconsin in the early 2000's, I was excited to see that you had visited a LDS Church in that state. I know from experience that the young missionaries are so wonderful that if you had interacted with them you would have an unique experience. I was so excited to see that you had taken the opportunity to put the Church to the test, and especially the Book of Mormon. It is the word of God, and you have begun a life-altering journey. You are now making a tremendous impact on the people you contact with your strong testimony. When I viewed some of your recent posts, you have made an amazing transition to the gospel. You are doing a great work. Keep it up.

David, as you were talking about opposition that faces many new converts, I was reminded of a 21-year old woman I knew in Toulouse, France many years ago. Her parents warned her that if she was baptized, she was no longer welcome in their home. That faith-filled sister fasted and prayed, and was baptized, Two years later I saw a photo in the Church News. It showed her as one of the missionaries opening up missionary work in Italy. (Thank you for your example of faith, Maria.)

David, I sure do love you. What courage you have to share your personal feelings and know that there will be some people who will deride you. I was a Protestant when at age 14 I KNEW there were too many churches that did not agree and I wanted TRUTH. I was lead to the Church of Jesus Christ and when I heard Joseph's story I SO related to him. He and I were so much alike in how we thought and thought about which of all the churches were true? When I knelt and prayed I felt just as he described his experience when he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost gave me such a manifestion of truth that ALL doubt left me and my heart was changed. My conversation's power has sustained me over the last 50 years because my father turned against me and there have been very few I have been able to share my testimony with in my family. I enjoy reading your accounts and you are not weird seeing Red Cardinals! Heavenly Father is continuing to manifest His truth to you! Stay strong and know you are gaining so many friends along the way!

David, I have had two experiences with & while in the Sacred Grove. One is of such a personal revelatory instruction that I feel it is too sacred to disclose. Here's how I experienced the other: When I went there, I was with my husband & one of my daughters & her husband. We all decided to walk into the Grove alone & from different starting points. I walked right out of the little prairie home's back door & straight into the Grove. I began to wonder if I had been Joseph Smith exactly how would I decide where to walk. So for me, I decided to find a spot where I felt comfortable that I would not be seen by any of my family. So, I found a place that I felt like I could kneel comfortably out of sight. I stood there pondering what had happened as Joseph knelt inside that Grove on that spring morning. I didn't feel anything extraordinary, but I did feel a deep confirming testimony of the events he recorded as true. What was interesting is that the of the 4 of us who were in the Grove at that time did not run into each other, at all, on that day!

I live on the West Coast and few years ago I had the opportunity to travel across the country to visit the Hill Cumorah and the Sacred Grove. It was a very spiritual experience. Especially at Hill Cumorah. I was at the base of the Hill staring up at it and contemplating where on the Hill the plates were hidden by Moroni. I received an unmistakable witness from the Holy Ghost that it was sacred ground and the plates were indeed hidden there and later brought forth.

Hello David!! I love your cardinal stories!! I am a 64 year old life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I don't know if I have shared with you before about my 92 year old father and his hummingbird connection. Three years ago, my Beloved brother David passed away at the age of 59. He was named after my father. My father & my brother David were very close. David's death has been very hard on my father. But in the 3 years that David has been gone, he comes to my dad in the form of a hummingbird. Often times, the hummingbird will hover right in front of my dad's face making eye contact with him. My dad always feels David's presence when a hummingbird comes around, and a few times, he even heard David's voice telling him that everything would be okay. The Lord allows things to happen in a way that will resonate with each of us individually!! Don't ever feel silly about sharing your cardinal stories, because this grandma here LOVES THEM!! 🐦🔥🙏❤️

Strangely enough, I just referenced that exact same thing to my husband this morning. It's disheartening. But less so when we remember that we were told exactly how it would go. How it would look and feel. But we aren't alone at all. We all have each other, and anyone we can lift up along the way. They are still to be found.

I love your channel because it just provides further proof that if we seek truth, we will eventually find it. You've approached every faith and denomination in this journey with sincerity and a willingness to learn, even if you didn't necessarily agree or believe everything they were teaching. You still listened and that is a very hard thing for anyone to do and it's a testament to your humility. You were inquisitive and asked questions, instead of working off of assumptions or the teachings of others. You went straight to the source and found out for yourself. So I don't think any member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is at all surprised where your story has eventually landed because we all know that this really is His Church, thanks to the restoration of the fullness of His gospel through Joseph Smith, and you found exactly what you were seeking. Nevertheless, we all love to see it because, not only are we happy for YOU, but having this little window into your life provides yet another testimony to us that testifies to the truthfulness of all of it! To answer your question though - I visited the Sacred Grove when I was in my early twenties. Unfortunately, my faith was not very strong at the time so I didn't get everything out of it that I could. But it was very surreal, knowing that you're standing in the place where Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph. I have two boys, ages 8 and 10, and I plan to take a trip back there with them in the next few years so they can see that special place for themselves.

Yay! I love it when you make videos about your testimony and what you’ve learned! From the talk “Come join with us!” By Dieter F Uchtdorf Oct 2013 he says -Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters-my dear friends-please, first doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. We must never allow doubt to hold us prisoner and keep us from the divine love, peace, and gifts that come through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.❤ I am sure it HAS to be difficult if loved ones do not understand. Just remember your example and how bright your spirit is will witness to them. You do not have to prove anything to anyone! Pray to know what to say if you feel cornered. You will be blessed for this massive life changing sacrifice you have made. Heavenly Father KNOWS YOU and loves you and you’re on the right path even if others don’t understand. You also have us to be there for you too as you know.

David, I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Laterday saints, so my conversion story is different than yours, but we all have to become converted. We aren't born with a testimony. I realize that it may be more difficult and requires more spiritual walking on water as you mentioned, for one who was not born into an LDS family. My great great grandfather was a convert to the church in London England. We have family records and letters between him and his father. His father could never accept this church that his son had joined but their letters were respectful of one another. I have read other things that my great great great grandfather wrote and I have come to see him as a man with great faith in God, but his background kept him from accepting the truth of the restored church. I have come to feel a bond with my great great great grandfather and I have a hope that when I pass beyound this life, I will be able to greet him and learn that he was able to accept the truth of the reastoration in the spirit world.

David, your videos always uplift and strengthen my testimony. Thank you for your vulnerability ❤. I couldn’t help but think of my own ancestors and the sacrifices they made that have blessed my life beyond measure. Your choice to follow the Lord will not only bless your life now but will bless so many generations going forward and even those who have gone before you. May God continue to strengthen you and guide you on your journey! Much love brother ❤️

Your stories about Cardinals is fascinating. My daughter passed away a year ago today. I visited her gravesite recently and as I was sitting there, listening to a song that she had recorded on her phone that we found after she passed away, a little bird was chirping away next to the bench by me. I attempted to move a little closer to it because it didn’t seem to be afraid of me. I was able to sit right by it and almost touched it before it flew a short distance away and just continued chirping. I felt my daughter close by. I have enjoyed your videos and knew that one day you would join the church. You have a kind heart and thank you for sharing.

Excellent, genuine content. No one should put a cap on what God can do to communicate with us and manifest his mercy to us. He is truly mindful of every person (Alma 26:37).

Your videos are always such a pleasure to listen to. So positive and upbeat. I've really enjoyed following your journey over the past 1+ years :) One book that has been tremendously helpful to me regarding my own doubts, and how such doubts are a crucial aspect of our spiritual growth, along with faith, is called "The Crucible of Doubt" by Terryl and Fiona Givens. That book really resonated with me. One line in particular I try to remember: "There is a type of flower that can only bloom in the desert of doubt. Faith that we elect to perfect in the absence of certainty is an offering that is entirely free, unconditioned and utterly authentic. Such a gesture represents our considered and chosen response to the universe, our ascent to what we find beautiful and worthy, and deserving of our risk."

David, Thank you for your amazing podcasts! So glad you eventually joined the church! I loved watching you come to love the Latter-day Saints and their faithfulness! Come to Africa one day and see the LDS church in action where we know we are ALL loved by our Father in Heaven and as we follow and believe what the Book of Book of Mormon teaches, He invites “all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God” (2 Nephi 26:33). You have been an inspiration to so many of us! 🙏🏻

I have so much reverence for the Sacred Grove. I know that Joseph Smith did converse with God the Father and His Son. I hope to walk on that Sacred Grove some day. Every Latter-Day saint is cheering you on David, so is the Lord.

I really love hear your experience, I am always expected to know what you going to share. I know you are a song of God. It is wonderful to hear you, thanks, David for your great work, keeping doing so, there are hundreds souls to touch, your vivid experience can make the difference. I hope your keep in the covenant path. God bless you. Keeping reading the Book of Mormon, and you never fell down. This is the only true and living church on the earth, direct by a living prophet. Russell M. Nelson. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Jesus Christ is on head of church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints.❤❤ love you bro. ❤❤ best regard from DR.

There are three large trees that are larger than all the other trees in the grove. They are called the apostle trees. They are right at about 200 years old

My husband has a book about animal Spirit guides, so I looked up cardinal and it says, “this is a good time to make a fresh exploration of the religion You grew up in, with your eyes and heart open. “ And another resource I found says that cardinal represents friendship, love, devotion, self-confidence, assertiveness, family, and home, protection, and angel messages. You are obviously receiving many angel messages!

Because of something that had happened earlier in the day, I was not in a very good mood on our first visit to the Sacred Grove, and not open to having a very good spiritual experience. On the way back to the car, though, I noticed a clear shadow of ONE leaf. One leaf amongst dozens and dozens of tall trees and thousands of leaves! I took that as a tender mercy to me that the Lord knew me - knew me individually - just like that one leaf. Blessings as you continue your pursuit of your newly found faith.

My daughter serving a mission in Georgia just sent this in her email: This is an awesome miracle. Before I came the sisters were meeting with this really cool guy named Brandon. And they dropped him right before I got there, something happened and I think he wanted a little space. But we have stopped by his house many times to visit him and have left notes but he's never answered. And then YESTERDAY, he was at church! Like what??? So immediately after we went and introduced ourselves and he was like ya I saw you guys come every time on my ring door bell camera but never answered because I needed a break from the church. But he said the holy spirit kept leading him back and back so he came today! Then he told us how a member sent him the 52 churches in 52 weeks video thing, and it's about that guy who kept seeing cardinals and he knew it was a sign from God, and ended up joining the church. And Brandon said he has never seen a cardinal before and yesterday on his ring camera a red cardinal flew up to his doorbell and just sat there.. is that crazy ?? He even showed us the video of the cardinal at his doorbell, so he's like I knew it was a sign and I had to come ! He said he's gonna come every week and I'm so sad because I'm getting transferd this week 😭😭 so ya I won't get to see his progress but I'm excited for him!

I love how you have a very symbol- oriented mind! Looking for lessons and truths in the seemingly simple things around us (like trees or birds) is a wonderful gift
