As long as a person does not do shirk with Allah swt he is granted Shafa'ah on the Day of Judgment. Surah AzZumur 44 and Surah Saba 22-23. So even if our loved ones do not leave of sins, and only worship Allah and call to him without any grave worship or such, then we must have hope in Allah's mercy for them. Ofc, it also includes our endless da'wah, if one method doesn't work then try another, along with the wonderful dua mentioned. May Allah swt protect our parents from shirk and guide them, our offspring and us to the straight path.
