One thing I noted right away is that the flat back plane is so much more accessible than a recessed box. Filing that one away for my next control box build. Oh, and crimpers and connectors. It seems that there is an infinite variety. So many tools. Nice video as ever. cheers.

Probably next year I will build a CNC with Duet 3 - I bought that board already. I will follow your concept to create the controller board first with all the little extras. When all that is designed and works then I can build the CNC and buy a proper suitable sized box.

Which AWG/mm^2 cables where in the 2.54 molex on the Duet? For example the Steppercables? You know the maximum AWG for these molex connectors?

I haven't had a chance to use it - but it does look good. I went for this controller because it gave me an opportunity to learn how to programme but also I really like the web interface / connectivity method via the browser. I'm also now trapped. Lol.

do you have any reccomendation on where to find bigger enclosures like yours?

@@EducatingSavvas I’m not sure I do sadly. Are you stepping down the voltage in this because the Duet 3 has too low a maximum voltage it can cope with for the components ? I was wondering whether a Duet 3 could be used y to o control and Abid cnc with their Norma 34 motors. Is that something you’d know the answer to? Chertd

@@markscheiner3952 Yes not step but create a logical connection. So I am using the 8 channel relay modules to input the signal from the limits at 24v and the duet's lower voltage on the associated NO or NC + Com terminals. I will go over this in the next video - the two voltages don't ever meet. For your other question, you have either two choices - Duet 2 with the expansion board and external drivers or the Duet 3. I like the platform because it's a way to learn about programming and develop new methods of working / teaching.
