We conclude our "Behind the Glass" series at the West Point Museum with Garry Adelman and Michael Diaz. Featured in this video is a medal given to Robert Anderson by Marquis de Lafayette, flag pole rings from the 1st South Carolina Volunteer Infantry Regiment, a bugle played by Custer's unit at Appomattox and the first Medal of Honor awarded in World War 2.

Garry and Michael the West Point Museum has some really neat thing In its collection. The 54 Massachusetts colored regiment was famous for Fort Wagner. And the uniform was beautiful. That bugle was awesome. The last charge of the Civil War sounded the charge. Thank you ! ❤️💯👍👊

Hey Garry! Thanks for giving a shout-out for the Battle of Olustee (Florida, February 1864), and the notable involvement of the 54th MA. It is an often-overlooked battle...way down South, here in Florida.

Garry and Michael Diaz, point out the history of the Cincinnati society, Robert Anderson a ACW US commander father was in the American revolution, WOW!! Very interesting! Anderson is a union hero and commander... Former teacher, his disciple PGT Buaregade ... Faces him at ft Sumter!! The formation of the USCT 1stSC 33rd USCT INF and the 54th Mass vol INF, their history james Island and ft Wagner, later olustee ocean grove station. It's interesting the history of the uniforms... Trying on a union uniform was so Cool even if it was a replica....the bugle of Appomattox... Station and courthouse. WOW this is intense...the ACW was not over w Lee...but several Gen CSA forces had yet to surrender...

I’m not sure , but this is probably the first Army MOH. Those are Pearl Harbor were Navy and Marines of course .

I would have liked to see the bugle. Did it cross anyone's mind to move the camera & get a close-up or possibly an overhead shot rather than just a view of it in the box. You don't need to pick it up. Just let the viewer see it. What a couple an novices. And you guys should learn to speak clearly, slowly & properly.
