Wuddup Cleveland, I just wanted to say that your African cichlid tank is dope bro!. Keep up the good work!. From my knowledge of keeping African peacock cichlids I’d definitely recommend using a wave maker (and face it upwards towards the top of the water so that way it’s not bothering the fish.) The lakes that they come from has very fast current and it’ll also help with aggression. Hopefully this helps bro!.

What’s good Micah! Thank you for elaborating! I’ve been asking all day how the wave maker helps with aggression and you took the initiative and answered it without me asking! I appreciate you Bruh! 👊🏾

Thank you! 10 - 12 huh? That’s going to really be pushing this 55g…. I currently have 14 in here now. But hey, maybe it’ll work out. I’m going to start with a good 6 more first. I took that OB out last night.

They are looking GREAT, the sulpher head is a hap, there is another that looks like him which is a yellow blaze the difference is body is blue not charcoal. That yellow one you said you dont know looks like a sunshine,,, there are also lemon jake that kinda look like him with more blue and less yellow. Aldo nice fish is a red jake. There are just so many options out there.

@TheFishCorner having good flow in an African cichlid tank via a WaveMaker gives them something to do. if they're swimming in the flow thats less time spent chasing fish. it's pretty much a distracter

Hey bud !! Whattyaknow 😂😂 Lookin' Guchhii bro !! I see mayb 2 haps.. the one with the yellow stripe on top and maybe the one wit the white stripe top. The yellow top fosure, man you'll find out later on when they start outgrowing the OB's lol. Thats one of my fav ones too man, wasn't planning on buying fish but saw him had to scoop it, Ruby Red.. Eurika Red (thats what mine was sold as, man not even the fish stores get the names right) always made fun of the people knowing the scientific names but thats the only way to properly class em.. and maan watch out my Yo-yo jumped out the tank couple nights ago, dried up. (who woulda knew huh)
@TheFishCorner Жыл бұрын
What’s up bud, I appreciate your thorough feedback and clarification! Damn haps… I know they get much bigger and aggressive than the peacocks…. 😅
@AmateurProRacing Жыл бұрын
They can live together as long its common haps (which you have) and not predatory, since they have the same diet but dont mix the mbunas cuz the peacocks diet will cause bloat (basically they look chubby from the protein since they are vegetarians and is detrimental to their health as it shortens their life-span.) and they super agro and territorial compared to the peacocks and have tiny teeth which will damage them. Trust, i learnt the hard way man 😂 MF killed one of my fish but kept him in a quarantine tank cuz i ended up liking that mofo (Kenyi Mbuna) @@TheFishCorner
@TheFishCorner Жыл бұрын
@@AmateurProRacing thank you for the understanding bro! I really appreciate it. I’m familiar with mbunas, I’ve had a few over the years. Kept them with some aggressive American cichlids but since they don’t grow to the same size, they obviously got KIA. I’m glad I have the less aggressive haps though! You informative feedback is greatly appreciated! 💯👊🏾🦾 Thank you again!

Sometimes I’ve used a time out breeder box to isolate the aggressor for periods of time. The peacocks have an hierarchy system and will always move fish up and down the ranks as fish come and go, or as the fight each other.

I heard you say you have a red Empress thats a hap. Get that ob out. Its always a battle tho. I kept them for 6 yrs. All types of the 3 main lakes. Seems breeding projects are the way to go, tho. I keep dolphins and star sapphire groups way less death. Almost none. Similar colors will fight. Hybrids are extremely aggressive. Red shoulder peacock looks like. Good luck cause sometimes it works. I also see a lemon jake.

Dragon blood (dark red), yellow sunshine (yellow with blue body), and the 2 getting bullied look like the same fish. With or without rocks somebody is going to be more dominant and others ain't.

The trick with these guys is to overstock the tank to the point where they can't single each other out because of the crowd. Also pay attention to gender of the fish...one or two females will cause utter chaos in an all-male show tank.
@TheFishCorner Жыл бұрын
Overstock the tank I will do. I don’t know how to tell the sex of these fish. Can you assist with that? How can you tell?
@okayyeah7329 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFishCorner You can vent them, but that's a pain the but. (no pun intended lol) I used to buy the larger ones that are showing unmistakable male coloration from reputable LFSs or breeders that can identify this. If occasionally a female gets in to the group. I take her back ASAP.
