"The secret to become a better lock Picker." Proceeds to pick locks without telling any secrets or explaining methods. Shouldn't this be titled, "Testing cheap lock picking set?"

I use a vise similar to this one. I use it when working on golf clubs. But I took two small lengths of 1x1 wood, clamped them together and drilled a 5/8” hole at a ‘suitable’ angle. The I bought a Panavision 350 head. Used double sided tape to put some thin rubber on the post and clamped it between the pieces of wood. Basically made use of what I had.

Leon's lockpad I'm glad to hear they stood the test of time. I may be an outlier but my first set was individual picks from Peterson. I am pleased to see these cheaper options do open locks for those starting out. My biggest suggestion would be they improve the tension wrenches

I have a set that is very similar. Funny thing happened when the tip of one snapped off. I tried using it to pick locks. LOL it has become my favorite pic. It opens everything LOL it is much better than the pics that Are not broken,I guess it is the picker and I must be able to use the shape and the odd little tip to open locks!
@HelpfulLockPicker
@HelpfulLockPicker 6 жыл бұрын
Nice work on the opens. Another common thing people often do when the tip breaks off is to use them for tubular locks! I am glad you are having a lot of success :)

Would you do a video showing how you hold the pick and use your fingers to manipulate the pick as im new and have been trying to hold it like a i would a pencil and not getting anywhere. I know its personal preference for each person and probably basic but i know it could help me and maybe another beginner. Please. Thanks.

There are 'Combination Locks' (Master?) that have a place on the back of the lock for a 'Master Key' to open it. Usually these are loaned out at Health Clubs, for members to use Club Lockers, etc. We have had several lockers broken into. Would this be due to a Master Key, or can they be quickly and easily picked? Thanks
@HelpfulLockPicker
@HelpfulLockPicker 7 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of factors at play but one thing to keep in mind is that statistically most break ins are not caused from picking but rather destructive entry or possible non-compliance (people not locking the lock) Those combo locks with the key in the back are an easy pick, they are also easy to shim which you can learn more about on video [50]. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKDSipWHobKZhJo It would be unlikely that someone is picking the locks, it could be possible someone duplicated the key somehow that wasn't supposed to however it seems like it must be something else. Lockers are not the most secure place to store things and have flaws of their own. I would say that there is not enough information to know but to answer your question, yes they can be picked and picked quickly by someone who knows what they are doing. Here is an example of someone picking one done by theboredlockpicker kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGjVnWh-aZ2qkKs

I currently own this set and have already had two picks break. One by me and one by a friend when I was introducing them to lock picking. Would you say that its worth the investment for better picks instead of relying on these not breaking?
@HelpfulLockPicker
@HelpfulLockPicker 6 жыл бұрын
Wolfiesse I would personally check out Peterson, Southord, or Sparrow they are much more durable. It depends on how much you will practice and your budget. These picks are some of the cheapest of the cheap.
