also having OCD and thinking that god is listening to all your thoughts must be such an internal hell. whenever i would pray as a kid, i would always accidentally think bad thoughts about God but i told myself that he prob understood that it was just a mistake. but imagining having ocd and thinking youre going to hell bc of intrusive thoughts you accidentally thought during prayer would be so awful.

As someone with a lovely little charcuterie board of many types of ocd, I find it so funny that symmetry and contamination ocd are like our poster children because the compulsions caused by such are “more palatable” than most. We need some “if I think about a red elephant and don’t crack my knuckles 25 times each to counterbalance it, an asteroid is going to hit earth” representation in the media smh
@meghanrose8588 ай бұрын
Elaborating on the “more palatable” part: there are only certain types and intensities of ocd that are held as socially acceptable I’ve noticed. I once had a whole PSYCHIATRIST (sponsored by ZocDoc) that said “oh you must be so clean and organized, I’m so jealous.” When I explained to him what having ocd was really like, he responded with “yikes”. Like a goddamn Scooby Doo character. The next day I saw he took “OCD specialist” out of his bio. God bless the patient that had to explain POCD to him, he prob exploded on the spot.

What Jeffree Star is doing in Casper makes me think of Sims or any game where you can build and customize a world. Him having restaurants and stuff makes sense to me because it's probably places he would want to frequent anyway and he can make it the way he wants it. It's not a choice I would make but I get the appeal.

I have autism, so I have the ocd where it doesn’t feel like ocd like it feels natural for me to organise colours and analyse patterns for example (I have heavy special interest in pattern recognition and it shows up in everything literally from everyday tasks to generational trauma). The thing is, is because of my autism, I have deep pattern recognition, so my ocd would manifest in anything especially if I’m really stressed. I’ll pick up on patterns more (especially how it ties into my actions in the moment) and it gets overwhelming. For example, if a friend asks me to help paint a room, my stress might cause me to unconsciously focus on counting brush strokes, I think finding comfort in familiar patterns. It’s not a conscious decision, I mean it’s ocd lol. But my theory is that it for me it’s also based in familiarity in some way. Like with a routine I guess. So I think when I’m really anxious my brain gets overwhelmed and is processing a lot. Like sensory overload but like a different strain. I’m not sure how to explain cause I got loooottttaaa thoughts on this kinda thing and how it’s manifested and blah blah but yeah ᵕ̈

I went to a religious elementary school and that’s actually how I went so long without being diagnosed with OCD. When OCD manifests in a religious way it’s called scrupulosity. Ultimately, the biggest difference between scrupulosity and other kinds of ocd is that the “other” or “bully” (that monitors and judges your every thought and movement) has a name: the big G O D. That’s why it’s so hard to treat scrupulosity, because having that state of mind is almost the goal in many religions .

Oh, we're telling heart attack stories? My grandmother had a VERY severe one a few years ago now, hers didn't hurt AT ALL, she felt off the day before and when it really came on, she was able to breathe out but unable to breathe in. Heart attacks tend to have VERY different symptoms in AFAB people and they're often written off as women being stressed and anxious! My grandmother is in her 60s, she was only told that symptoms were different after she had her heart attack and almost died.

Being and voting conservative is a conflict of interest for everyone. I don’t think democrats or republicans have any human beings quality of life in mind. The system chooses not to do the universal necessities to care for everyone in our country to collectively want prosperity for Americans. Our presidents and our government doesn’t advocate for citizens. There isn’t a political side that wants what’s best for you. Economics and capitalism suppresses class mobility and the opportunity to have financial success. The value of the dollar and the cost of living is un achievable and isn’t improving. No president actually cares about the people.

The fact that you’re stating all of that means it doesn’t need to be repeated. Majority of people who spend a lot of time on the Internet know what he’s done so why go over it again. And tbh, chronologically online ppl are the ones who love to bring that up. For what? Do you hate him or like him the way you love talking about his past. Outside of the Internet no one is checking for him like that only his fans are. If a Latina who calls black women roaches can still have a fan base, why can’t he?
@Spamish938 ай бұрын
@@KagomeH this is a show about internet deep dives. Kinda defeats the purpose if you assume your viewers already know everything about the internet. It’s more like a splash than a deep dive at that point. Even Kendahl kept saying how much they don’t know about Jeffree, which is like… ok so maybe learn about him before you claim to be doing a deep dive on him?
