TTArtisan lenses always impress me, and their 56mm f/1.8 is no different. The image quality is super sharp at the center even at f1.8. Love using it on my XT4 for portraits.

I recently did some corporate headshots (and fun animal portraits) with the TTArtisan, and while it performed very well you're right it was frankly too sharp lol, took a bit of extra time editing skin texture. Great video though, it was cool to see it in comparison to the Fuji 56. But also interesting to see just how 'good enough' lenses are these days!

Could the following lenses be cohesive giving the same look or just be a set Sigma 20mm, Tamron 35mm, Tokina 50mm and Canon 85mm IS, all EF at F/1.4? I want these 4 because of the branding and the fact they are the last EF offering. I find new mounts hard to come to terms with and I like the legacy and heritage of these particular lenses. Am I being a snob?

I don't have any experience with any of those lenses unfortunately. If you like them, then go for it. Having a style, preference, unique look is part of the gig, I wouldn't call it being a snob 👍

@@PhillipRPeck My thinking was, that these lenses, as a final EF offering, are cohesive, in that they strive to be technically, as true as a lens can be, without computage "in-camera". That generally also covers colourage at a guess..

@@dannybaresi In my experience, different lens manufacturers lenses might have different color casts. I had a Sigma 17-55 EF-S lens that was a lot warmer than Canon EF for instance. But otherwise you might be right, older lenses weren't reliant on in-camera corrections

@@PhillipRPeck older as in 2018 release date canon is their third refinement of that model. Tamron they're 50th anniversary lens touting 'best lens ever made'. Tokina being there only FF prime but having vista in the blood, and the widest front glass I've seen. Lastly, Sigma the first ever ittiration of a lens at this length and f stop, being truer than the mirrorless version, just released. #EF is the new PL.

XF 56 mm 1.2 WR and 56 mm 1.4 from Sigma...TT artisan it's not worth the money.
