Ever had a car with a hacked up dash? In this episode I repair a dash that was hacked at the stereo shop... Customer found a patch panel online and I just needed to trim it to fit and weld it in.

There would be blood possibly a missing persons report if that was done to my car. So many hacks install stereos.

Good job repairing that mess! I kind of find it hard to believe the owner brought this to a real shop .

You did your usual super job on the 57. I finished the 56 210 for my wife for the 4th time. She is quite 😊.

That's a nice car, it's just a little dated. Good for him to bring it around to a timeless look. The hacked dash is one thing, but to scratch the glass cutting speakers in? That's a new level of no Fs given. Thanks for the vids! Always stoked to see what's getting worked on next.

I remember when stereo shops prided themselves on putting in a system without any trace (so it doesn't get stolen). Not these guys :-P

Nice job again Lucky! I have a ‘57 Chevy Bel Air 2-door hard top that was my dad’s. He bought this car in pieces and was only able to get the motor built before he passed away in 2004. If I am able to get it rolling again, I’m going to paint it India Ivory/Tropical Turquoise like that one. Beautiful!

Groovy tune dude! You youngsters shouldn’t try freehand shaping like Lucky does till you grow some real forearms from using real wrenches. I usually don’t listen to my radio in the car much but like to keep one working in case I have to bail during a big storm or other big event.

You know lucky, your workmanship is beyond great, years ago, mid 70s Audiovox came out w a in dash am/fm 8 track w adjustable shafts, it came w 2 plates, 1 for behind the dash, cause the face didn’t fit in many of the openings, like a 69 Lemans/GTO you had to hack much out, then use the back plate and the face plate, and the back bracket to hold it in, then you had to file the face plate cause of the adjustment on the shafts, real butcher job, recommended by Audiovox

The guy owns a '57 Chevy and cannot install his own radio, or fix the hacked hole? Wow. I guess this is why radio installers and fabricators like Lucky are in business. When I bought my house, a lady at work asked me if I needed a good painter. I said, no, that's me. Good grief.

Oh man!, how many dashes did I hack for my Pioneer Supertuner to fit, back in the day!?, a lot, but today there is no need for that BS, and for that stereo shop to cut the dash when they were specifically told not to is complete bullshit!

So you undo all the hack job and then the owner takes it to a 'stereo' shop to finish the install. I know it's not my car, but it would look so much nicer with all the original guages back in it. If it has a LS in it he could put a 5 inch digital display dash in the glovebox to monitor what's going on with the engine. That way when it's parked up he could shut the glovebox and it would look stock. Those replacement dash displays for the older cars just look cheap in my opinion. But they are worth ridiculous money for something that was cool in 1999.

I'm done with hot rods. My last was a 67 Mustang with all the goodies, including 3 pedals (now that I think about it, all my performance cars had three pedals)! It had a $20 cassette stereo that actually worked but was never turned on because the engine was too loud! Yes, I did drive that car just about everyday except when it rained. I sold it many years ago to someone who shipped it to Belgium!
