For 5 years, I have been collecting various molds, resins of all types, alcohol inks, metals, powders, etc, to start a new resin art hobby. I started making resin bookmarks, small molds for earrings, keychains, and pendants. I have big molds sitting here that I need to utilize. I think I'm intimidated, or I might like it too much and stray from the jewelry designing altogether. I even started wire weaving classes. Not to mention, I make natural medicine tinctures, and I want to make aloe vera soaps. I have many healthy aloe plants. I've gone through $30,000.00 for materials of everything. I have a little store here. materials sitting in a room with other inventory to design clay jewelry. 😢😮 I am retired and over ambitious, or I need a shrink! Lol😂 😮😅 during covid is when I learned I had this gift to create my workday corporate job and never really had time discover these gifts when I worked full-time I also taught aerobic classes the Jane Fonda routines remember those? Plus, I loved going dancing on my weekends if I had any off. Thank you so much I've been learning so much about resin from you. I am new to your Channel and enjoy the time.

I have a suggestion for working with powders. Take a piece of cheap copy paper. Fold it in half. Wipe with a fabric dryer sheet. Put it under whatever you’re going to be putting your powder in. As long as no liquid gets onto the paper you can pick it up carefully with it partially folded and return the powder to its jar to use again. I’ve been rubber stamping for over 30 years and saved a ton of embossing powder and glitter this way. I usually use a brush to move the powder into the center of the fold for pouring and then to get the last off the paper. Which can be reused over and over. As can the dryer sheet if kept in a zip lock baggie. Static can be a pain which the sheets control. Felt bad watching you lose any of your favorite wheat powder.

Beautiful as always!! I wish I had half your creativity. I have seen someone else do the carousel, I can't for the life of me remember who though (sorry). They did turn it inside out and brush on the mica powder but they put on a paper tube around the centre to stop the powder making a mess on it. Hope this helps.😉

I have that mold. Although it was time-consuming, I successfully painted the horses, etc. with mica powder. It did make a bit of a mess on the walls when I turned it back right-side in, though. I used q-tips and alcohol to get in there and clean it up. It worked really well. I had to touch it up in a couple of places after demolding, but it was minor. Because of the mica, I was not able to spritz the mold with alcohol before pouring the resin. I haven’t gotten to the lid yet (I ran out of resin and time), but I’ll try to remember to post it on your Facebook page so you can see it done that way. I think the next time I make it, I’ll cast it with an eco pour so I can paint it afterwards in greater detail.

I use UV resin for making jewelry, I make my own pigment paste,(although I didn't know that's what it was called lol) but I use either baby powder or corn starch with a little bit of resin and that way it takes soooo much less of the mica powder. I will also use alcohol ink and even acrylic paint for my color in my paste. The baby powder and cornstarch work really well and it kinda keeps the color from sinking to the bottom of whatever mold I'm using so fast. I don't know if this helps anyone but I hope so. I'm really enjoying your video thank you.
