Thanks Steve, I just finished a new series on S-cams and brakes on an old neglected trailer. It's the last 5 videos on my channel at the time of this response.

Great series Gordon, nicely done! I wonder if the replacement slack adjuster bolt might be metric? Wouldn't surprise me considering where everything is made these days.

It probably is.

I use GE 20Year Clear Silicone in a Caulking Gun it’s 7.25 a Tube easy to clear out if you leave a Bead on the end and Cut the Tip Of The Tube at an Angle For easy Application Lasts a Year or More 👨🏼🔧👩🏻🔧😎👍🏼 Great Series Gordon
@GordonRobertsonDIY7 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty conservative, I get more than a year out of the ultra blue. That window silicone that smells like vinegar is not what I like to use, and it would go bad before I use it up on gaskets, now, if I had an open tube of that and that was all I had, I would use that before I would make a special trip for the other one. Thanks for watching.

How much would this repair cost if it was brought to a mechanic?
@GordonRobertsonDIY7 жыл бұрын
Probably $500
@razedonradio9694 жыл бұрын
My mechanic told me about 8 hours for both s cams on one axle. That's why I'm watching the video.

he Gord.. is it hard to change an oil cooler on a 60 series.. im getting oil in the coolant
@GordonRobertsonDIY7 жыл бұрын
It's not easy, you probably need to take off the turbo, drain the antifreeze, and the oil cooler is above the oil filters and in an awkward place to work. You should be able to do it in a couple or 3 hours.
@williamzoom7 жыл бұрын
I always lightly grease them, I wonder what book this was read in? Congrats on 5k subs :)
@GordonRobertsonDIY7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Will. I'm going to cut a few clips out of this series to make some single videos to put up so you'll see the same footage with different titles for more videos but shorter, like changing the brake chamber, greasing a bearing, slack adjuster, etc.
@williamzoom7 жыл бұрын
I would put class 7 - 8 or semi in the title to make searches come up even better.
@GordonRobertsonDIY7 жыл бұрын
The title space is small but there is a "keyword" box in the KZbin editor, I don't always use it but I can add or change it on any video anytime.
@researcher4good6 ай бұрын
Very informative, but don't pack an oil bath bearing with grease: it prevents the free flow of oil which is vital for the inner bearing. It MIGHT be fine but why risk it.
