We experienced a number of near misses. Imagine looking out the window and watching a mid-size tree flying by horizontally. 53:32 - Jeez with the "haynado", I used to always rake hay for my dad and my now ex-father in law. I don't think I'd be in a good mood after that - especially not if that had happened after 6-8 hours or more on a cabless tractor in the middle of a 100+ degree summer with the sun beaming down here in Arkansas. I probably would have been thankful for the cloud cover and the breeze though. But even in a cab and cooler English weather, that was probably still a lot of work being undone and wasted time.. A happy ending for me here would be, "And then the hay landed back in neat little windrows"... Lol

Looks to me like the camera was attached to a tripod or some other sort of stand that limited its range of motion, and the cameraman was struggling to disconnect it so he could keep the rocket in shot. This makes sense after all; the rocket wasn't planned to be launched, so they would've set up the camera to stare at the same place the whole time, not so that it could track a moving object! If you keep that in mind, it's actually kind of amazing they captured as much of the event as they did!

@@sudonymh Nah, it's because Elon is a self-absorbed man-child with delusions of grandeur that has way more money and influence than anyone with those traits should have. Space X is cool despite him, not because of him. All he really did for it was get it the money and attention it needed to get going. It does suck that such a cool and potentially revolutionary company is inexorably tied to such a selfish, unstable, and childish person. Thankfully, he has so far mostly been hands off with it. Hopefully it stays that way, because it'd suck if he got more involved and ruined it.

I can't understand why people who live in a hurricane zone don't have homes more suitable for the area. Take a look at Darwin, Australia. Cyclone Tracy wiped it out on Christmas day 1974. The city was rebuilt to withstand cyclones.
@nerdatello11 күн бұрын
to be fair i think most places only rebuild to have better infrastructure when the previous building gets destroyed, like why spend money to tear down and rebuild a building that has withstood a hurricane before (the condo we used to stay at every year wasn't exactly hurricane-proof but it stood for almost 40 years before hurricane ian in 2022 hit it head on (eye of the storm and everything) and destroyed it). i do agree with you i really wish most places would have better built homes but again i think it's a money thing unfortunately :/ it's kind of like how an insane amount of homes in the states don't have basements despite being prone to tornadoes lol, feels like a no-brainer that they should have basements or at least a storm shelter and yet... (most of the time it's due to flooding concerns but still)
