Hi Ernie! You guys need to be using primer coat and/or plaster bonding liquid before painting the top coat, the primer is also a neutral base that ensures the top coat colour comes out correctly and also that up you use less of top coat because it isn't absorbed into the plaster which also saves money. Also you have to use rollers, you cant paint walls by hand with a paint brush, it'll take forever doing it like that 😂😂

Thanks! We've used the italian version, called fissativo :) hahaha I KNOW, this will take ages with a brush. But Ive also heard professionals saying they always paint facades with big brushes. So at least I wouldnt be the only one, haha.

If you prime your cement with a stabiliser your paint will adhere easier and your opacity will sit on top, good job.

We’ve primed it all with a ”fissativo” first 😊 and we also mix some in the paint. Thanks Terry!

Definitely get a paint mixing blade attachment for your drill, less work and then you will know the paint is properly mixed 100%

A bit of advice from a lifetime of decorating. It may be a bit late, but here goes. Rollers do work if not, it's down to a few things you should do. 1) Buy yourself a few paint rollers, 9 inches, 6 inches, and 3 inches. 1) Hand brushes no greater than 4 inches, 2) Give the walls a coat of stabiliser. Research this one as prep will help improve ease of coating. 3) Use some water to reduce paint thickness on initial coats. 4) Never mix your own colours. Leave that to the specialists. 5) Expect a min of two to three coats to ensure coverage and durability

Thanks! We’ve used the italian primer called fissativo and we of course dilute the paint with the adviced amount of water. The paint colour mixing is done with a special machine in the building store but they are not so thorough unfortunately 😊
