#59 How My Life has Changed when Moving to the Countryside

I wasn't surprised by how long it took me to feel settled. Even though this was a move I was excited to make and I still live pretty much the same lifestyle, moving to the countryside is still a big adjustment.
But if there is one thing that never change, it's that when I wake up one morning and feel terrible, I stop and look around: rain pattering on the roof, fire crackling in the fireplace, the bird chirping and flitting outside the window and I hear the voice of my loved ones - and I just know I am home.
And I'm reminded that life is, indeed, good.
Very good.
That it's something worth fighting for.

Beautiful. I was born in Paris, and grew up there until my 16. I never felt comfortable and myself in the big cities. But then with my mom we found a house, our DREAM house situated in the french countryside. And from the first time I knew that i belonged there ! A beautiful garden wish a pond a fishes. Strawberries, apple, tomatoes, carrots and so much more. Waking up and watching the sunrise just behind the field with our neighbor's horses.

It's really a beautiful place and i miss it every day, even though i'm living my dream and working in Japan for a time. funny how I felt the exact reverse when I moved from my little French countryside to the big city. I moved back home this year and I'm not regretting it any second. We're closer to nature, the food is tastier, we've got more time for ourselves. We can be present instead of aspiring to be. That's such a big mindset change.

I will fly back home to Germany mid December and your videos always make me so nostalgicly homesick in a loving, beautiful way. Seeing my home country makes me very happy. I am from the countryside but I did move to the big city for 5 years in my late twenties! I feel blessed to have those 5 years in the big city because I met people from all over the world, tried different foods from all over the world, went to the theatre, went to the coffee shop on sunday! It made me so much more open to foreigners and other cultures, it definately made me a better person but I am more used to rural lifestyle, I never got used to the noise and crowds but the city was a great experiance and I will treasure that experiance forever. I think it's just what you are used to, I think I can't judge which is better because I wasn't raised in the big city.

I'm living in the countryside since Mars 2021.... few hours ago I was contemplating the sun and the colors, the beauty that sometimes we forget, to just stay quite and appreciate the fact that we are lucky to be alive! days are quite challenging for all of us. Your home and surrounding area is just so beautiful!! I moved to the countryside 2 years and even though I love it, it was an adjustment for me as well as I'm also an hour from the city and my family. The one thing I learned about making fires is you have to leave some of the ash at the bottom of the fireplace so that it protects the bricks. 🤗

So einen großen Garten zu haben ist schon sehr, sehr schön! Das war schon immer mein Traum gewesen! Ich wohne mit meinem Mann und meinen 5 Kindern in einem Reihenhaus. Da haben wir einen ziemlich kleinen Garten. These landscapes unlock memories I never knew I even had.
