Actually 22t mod0.6 pinions are very common, if you google search 22t mod0.6 pinion you should find heaps (must have 3.175mm bore to fit stock motor shaft) Sorry I don't have the part number for this particular one as I forgot what car it came out of😅🤦

Great video! I definitely need to learn how to service diffs .😊
@rccrazy5 ай бұрын
Thanks dude😁 It's not too hard once you understand the difference oil thicknesses/viscosity. Thicker oil like 50,000 weight will make a tight diff and 10,000 will be much easier to spin. The other important part is shimming, removing as much play or slop from the outer diff gears (diff crow and pinion gears) ALWAYS shim the gear side of the diff not the plastic case side of the diff, that will push the gears closer together making a tighter mesh. But you only need like 0.1mm to 0.2mm shims, can't make it too tight so it locks up. Measure the inner and outer bearing rings to find the shim size you need👌

Nice man! One trick I found with the Mini T playing around with pinions is you can flip it around and have the screw on the outside, so you don't have to cut.

The dude on eBay asked me what number mod it was..But I haven't got a clue what he means by that. Are certain mods coded so they make sure to send you the right stuff over? - Thanks champ, Your video's are seriously crankin mate. I loved that build you did a couple of weeks back and noticed some very positive feedback in the comments man. Does this mean we may see that old Cobra hit 100mph soon? hahah! Really enjoyed this, You take care man, Cya again soon bro! 👍

Thank you so much😁👍 Not sure what video you watched or the comments from what video that anyone mentioned 100mph with the cobra but no, if I did I was dreamin🥴 Would have to change too much and I'm not that invested in the VRX rigs anymore, sorry! I gotta get out and beat my 134mph PB soon but not sure which car it will be yet, maybe have to invest in the upgrades for my limitless😬 And mod or pitch is the actual size and depth of the teeth on the gears. So 1 think the 144010 has mod0.8 gears meaning tiny🤏 teeth. Not sure how big pinion you can go upto with the stock mount but the spur is HUGE so it will be a bit of a mission with the stock spur unless your running like 7000kv motor on 3s or even 4s. I changed my spool(centre gear shaft) so I could run mod1 gears(bigger teeth) but much faster gearing so spur is half the size compared to stock and pinion double compared to stock.

RC crazy, this videos is amazing! Just wondering when you installed the new pinion gear, did you need to move the motor mount over at all as the new gear is larger that the 18t stock pinion gear? Also wondering how the motor temps were after running speed runs and bashing?? I've got a 60am hobbywing in my setup so I've been more concerned about a higher KV motor overheating. Thanks and keep up the good work!!
@rccrazy9 ай бұрын
Thank you very much mate, I really appreciate it! The motor mount flips around 180° to fit the 22t pinion. If you look at the mount out of the car, you'll see the motor is not actually mounted centre of the mount, offset slightly. And the this 5900kv motor got quite hot on 3s, I wouldn't recommend 5900kv with a 22t pinion for bashing, I would probably say 5000kv max on 3s with 22t but that may even be pushing it.
@petervenner24509 ай бұрын
@@rccrazy Good to know and thanks for the quick response! I have it apart so I'll take a closer look at the motor mount tonight. I was planning on running even less than 5000kv with a 20-22t pinion. The truck absolutely rips already and the stock motor stayed very cool and the esc even cooler. Just looking for a bit more top end speed out of it. Figured a better quality motor (like that LC racing motor you mentioned) might deliver more efficiency and speed?? I run it will the punch on the lowest setting which makes it much easier to avoid flipping and losing control since they're so light and so fast haha
@rccrazy9 ай бұрын
It kinda sounds like you know what your doing mate, spot on how I like to set up my cars😁 When it comes to basically every rc car even my speed cars, low kv high gearing and high voltage tends to be much more efficient and run cooler. And yeah you end up with a much more capable setup in my opinion👌 So saying all that I personally love the stock motor at what is it, 4000kv I think🤔 with a 22t pinion and currently run a hobbywing 10bl50a esc on 3s, should last forever! And just a side note, 20t will not work without modding the mount you'll strip a gear or both, it only accommodates a 18t or 22t mod0.6 pinion. And all good but any more replies may be delayed, off to bed now, 4am in Melbourne, oops😅

Thanks Chris👍 Yeah they definitely get up and go with a decent lipo. I wish I would of spent a little more money and got us bigger scale models, but I'm trying to make the best of what we got. Should I add oil to these shocks? They are 66mm. I noticed your axles run downward to the tire, mine run upward a bit to the tire... ?? I knew something wasn't right when I installed them. I also can't figure out what size tires to order for these things. Don't want to burn the motor up. I also dont know enough about the gearing to tire size ratio thing.?? Do you have any videos on tire sizes?? If so could you lead me in that direction!!! Thanks again man.
@rccrazy7 ай бұрын
Your welcome mate. Assuming you don't mean the stock shock as they are not oil shocks, if you purchased some and were sold as oil shocks you should be able to put oil in them. For speedruns having the shafts parallel to the ground helps with smooth runs but yes for bashers they should only be parallel or pointing up when the shocks are compressed, bit odd they are that long but already compressed under the cars weight🤔 And the stock motor and esc can handle quite a bit especially if you have the NON tabbed esc(no screw tabs) You can run bigger wheels if you want but I probably wouldn't advise it, it could cause early damage to the gears and as I said if the chassis can not bottom out all the other parts cop the stress, chassis slapping is in no way a bad thing as most people will tell you it's quite the opposite, damage prevention!

(2s) 3.7 x 2 = 7.4v (3s) 3.7 x 3 = 11.1v And so on. Hope that helps get you started✌️ And just another quick tip. The C rating on a lipo is basically a indication of how fast the esc can pull power/amps from the lipo. Higher the C rating the more punch off the mark you get but it will run flat sooner.

So i guess all your running hear was on 850 3s...super fast
@rccrazy5 ай бұрын
Yeah that's the biggest 3s I will run in mine, don't mind a short run time to keep a light weight setup, just take multiple lipos😁

By any chance do yoy have the link for that pinion gear? Ive ordered one but noticed that it mine is a full circle and the one you have looks like it has half.
@rccrazy8 ай бұрын
I got this one from another vehicle but any 18 or 22 tooth mod0.6 pinion will work. I don't know what you mean by full circle or half though🤔
@InhumanArcher7 ай бұрын
@rccrazy I got it to fit thought it wouldn't. I do have another question though do you think this can run 4s with a 120a esc and a 5900kv motor?
@rccrazy7 ай бұрын
Ah, if you mean for off-road use then only if you want to melt the motor😬 5900kv on 4s off-road would probably die, 120a esc will be fine though😅

@@rccrazy just on-road and some speedruns
@rccrazy7 ай бұрын
Yeah it should be OK but maybe just stop and check the temps every now and then, one or two speedrun passes then pull it in and check it. Not sure about bashing on-road, it will still get very hot. My personal rules I try and go by are For off and on-road bashing - 1. Low kv, fast gearing. 2. Low kv, slower gearing but higher voltage. For speedruns - 3. Low kv, high voltage and fast gearing. I prefer lower kv motors in general, I only really use high kv motors when I have no gearing options like having a fixed motor mount or sometimes in very small vehicles when high kv is the best option.

@rccrazy7 ай бұрын
Ahhh, I got 94kph😅 There are many factors that will determine the true top speed, lipo quality and condition, lipo capacity(mah) what esc, what wheels, what pinion, even the battery connectors can effect the performance.

@@rccrazy 🤔Brother, I want to ask..every time you change the ESC, do you adjust the ESC? Because I have seen many RC car bloggers, most of them don't adjust it..😇thank you..
@rccrazy7 ай бұрын
@wilber8637 many popular brand escs need to be calibrated to the controller so throttle, brake and reverse works correctly, some cheap escs don't need calibrating though. Check the user manual of the esc you are using and that should give you instructions for calibrating the throttle if required👍
@wilber86377 ай бұрын
@@rccrazy Oh..I just found out about this today...Because most of the time after I change the ESC, I will give it to my friend to use the "Hobby Wing" program card to help me adjust it...😅So I asked out of curiosity..Thanks for sharing, bro...

Hey sorry mate, internet has been out. I don't really have channel apparels anymore, got a few hats and T's made at Vistaprint couple years ago but it was so expensive and not practical for resale. I tried to work out how to get my channel store made but I couldn't figure it out🤦 I am so sorry mate!

Dope video man it definitely lasted a while thats for sure but yea man todays a cool day im meeting up with a friend who inherited a 1/5 exb arrma kraton n he's thinkin of sellin it for $350 but they modified it n put in a mamba 8s esc with a castle motor not sure the exact specs but it might be the 2200-800kv what u think?
@rccrazy Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate👍 Sounds like a great deal for sure.
@proefficientsvision6325 Жыл бұрын
@rccrazy so basically he wanted $500 although he first told me $350 and i tried to act unsure about takin it but he seemed like he wasnt going to budge.. he said "ill hold it for u to think on it" so i decided well fuck it i might as well take it cuz overall im spending $500 on pretty much a $1600 dollar car so im comin out good at the end but deff wont be buying a rc car for quite some time lol...i ordered my IC5 banana plug cables to charge the batteries he gave me and im going to order some 6s batteries soon!! Maybe ill make a video one day and show u lol...need a discord or sumtin for all rc riders
@rccrazy Жыл бұрын
@proefficientsvision6325 yeah still a good deal but I hate when people increase prices after listing for less🤦 It's a 1/5 so you'll need 8s, 2 x 4s lipos if you want any decent speed out of it essentially if it is the 800kv motor. 6s will work obviously but I've heard they are rather docile on 6s🤷
@proefficientsvision6325 Жыл бұрын
@rccrazy yea hell yea u can say that again i deff felt a way nd he tried to say he was talking about the arrma infraction 6s but thats bs cuz i neva talked about that car lol either way deff a good deal and oh wow so thats how it works!! The 2 batteries make the 1 voltage lol i didnt think of it that way but dope so i guess ill buy 2 4s batteries instead
@proefficientsvision6325 Жыл бұрын
@rccrazy oh yea and it is the 2028-800kv sensored motor and btw whats that port on top for?
@jornmulder10 ай бұрын
yea i think 35A is too less for a 3s, but nice car.
@rccrazy10 ай бұрын
Every esc is different. Amps has basically nothing to do with what voltage you can run as there are many low amp escs that are more than 2s compatible, 12a and 18a drone escs that are 6s capable. Many variables that determine the ideal voltage for a vehicle

I highly recommend to anyone not to try this as it will most likely result in a failed esc 9 times out of 10 as my mate experienced after 3 seconds of pulling the throttle on 4s.
