That's a neat solution. I would just replace both connectors by a single JST SM 4 pin connector. Handles both power and data, small, lightweight, cheap and safe.

I use a JST-SH-4 on my modular mount. They’re fiddly to solder up since you can’t really get the male side of the connector in a crimp version but it’s very doable and the smaller connector makes it way easier to jam into tight spots.

Just ordered this. For $100 I’ll give it a shot. I got the 5” True X with all the prints and cage. I’ll see how it goes then possibly get a different frame from him if I like this one. It could be a game changer.

This is great. Lots of us thought about it, but this guy actually did it. It would be great if V2 had some kind of contact board where you could just slide the module in and out without messing with the wires.

Remember the tbs vendetta? You would replace just the arms and go from a 5 to 7 inch and keep all the internals. Having a modernized version of this in 3.5/5/7/10 inch would be nice wouldn’t it?

Awesome!! This is what I am trying to accomplish, but with an o3 in a Caddx GM3 gimbal. The gimbal with the o3 is over $300, even with the lower pricing of the o3. Super cool to see this design!!

Such a great idea! Would like to see it so it's a socket style type of connection where you just slide it in to the dock and that's it. No fiddling with wires. Like the connectors they use on a DJI battery.

I have been in the hobby for a decade or more and I have to say that this is pretty awesome!! This mitigates the biggest obstacle to DJI for me, the $$ COST $$ ...the biggest con is weight and it might be really difficult to get under 250g. ...but if you don't care about the weight and small amount of time to swap... this is a great idea and a great option

so funny i made a clover cage when o3 came out. i used a cinewhoop fame and cut in half and installed o3 just like that. i aslo would say you could use usb cable connector instead of xt30 and the small 2 pin you using for power and rx tx. nice idea

Lovely idea! I would use a 3s balance plug to connect the power and data. On the other hand, ph2 and xt30 were probably readily available :-)

And for those who wants a inexpensive gimbal (Pan/Tilt) for flying wings, check the ATOMRC detachable GIMBAL Head Tracking system, don't even have to deal with cables, just slide the gimbal on the shoe and that's it. And it costs around $25

I have flown RC Planes, Drones and still have my Phantom 4 Obsidian Version and my Align Helicopters. I tried 5th Scale for the 1st time and I am Addicted to more fun than I have ever had with any RC Model. In the air, the cost of a crash ranged from $200.00 and up!,

Drones are alot cheaper…Theyre more durable than they look. Ive crashed my fpv drones quite a bit, and theyre in perfect shape. Sometimes you might need a new set of props.. $4.00, or wet grass takes out your flight controller, 50-100$ or so… My drones are substantially cheaper to fly, than to drive my rc cars.

I haven't went digital yet ,money is always and issue. But with this clover cage I could see me using it .even though I've been flying fpv for about 3 years are so, been thinking about getting a crawler which I want to fpv anything I get into at this point .so I can see this in my future.

The antenna is very low and the battery can reduce the transmission of the stream over a long distance.And so the idea is interesting. Just move the antenna higher.
