Great machine, this is one of my favorites and I have only played it once! Although it was for 2 hours straight at the Pinball exhibition in Manchester England a couple of months ago. Thanks again for another splendid video, I always enjoy watching you guys do your magic on these priceless works of beauty.

Great job as always! I've noticed though you always use the bright white LED's on behind the backglass. They are so bright it takes away from the artwork. There's so many LED choices available if you are creative it brings out all the artwork. I used a combination of colors and used all LED's that have covers (except for one behind the big eight ball) to cut down on the glare. For example behind the lamp I used a soft white covered LED, behind areas that have red or green artwork - the same color LED's.

Chuck Garst Yes...we experiment and put in whatever seems best...sometimes customer wants it bright...but we have the friosted and regular brightness and the super (3 LED) lamps and try different things!

Should UXE of DELUXE be flashing too?
@tntamusements10 жыл бұрын
This was the second game Bally made (Silverball was first) that had lights in the head that carried over even when turned off! As you complete the "deluxe" each time, it spots a letter. In Silverball, when you spelled "Silverball" it spotted a letter in that back head also. When you complete DELUXE you get a free game (or it could be set for points or an extra ball too). The same was with Silverball! The battery on the logic board "held" this memory feature, even when turned off. Some players would sometimes wait until the deluxe was just missing the "e" and then walk up to it and play it until they won the free game! Very clever gimmick! I do cover this feature, in another 8 Ball Deluxe video we made last year.

Todd give me your top 5 most rare/sought after uprights..?
@tntamusements10 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren! They would all be cabaret or mini's that I am after for my collection! Gravitar, Red Baron, (no one has seen them, but they appear in brochures), Food Fight, Donkey Kong Jr (said to exist) and Digger (sega Gremlin) in a "trimline" (See my recent Carnival Trimline viseo).

Todd ... dont know if there is already a post about this ...BUT .. the reason they did the little lamp hole to show you have a credit because some states didnt allow credits so they coverd up the display so it couldnt be seen. But the player knew they had a game left when they saw the little white button lit ... Old school stuff. Which just goes to show everyone how young you really are ... youngin! Smile

I could listen to you talk about pins all day long, Mr. Tuckey. I've heard you mention that credit light before and forgot to comment on it. Russ Jensen explained it in one of his articles. He said that in some areas where it was illegal to earn replays, there was a loophole where you could get free games so long as you didn't know how many you actually had racked up. That way you couldn't sell X amount of your replays to other players or cash them out with the proprietor. The light told you that you had at least one more replay, but nothing more. My Williams Fan-Tas-Tic had all its original paperwork, and one of the things they included was a sticker to cover up the credit window for just that reason.

Joe Newberry Thanks Joe...for pointing this out! I gave you credit at the 4:54 minute mark! (The note sometimes does not show up on mobile devices!) Todd

Kind of a misleading issue here. When soldering with lead (or silver) solder - you are NOT breathing lead fumes, the lead does not become airborne (it must be at boiling temperature to do that). You are actually breathing the flux fumes (bad for both solder types). Some flux fumes are worse than others - always use an exhaust fan. For fixing old stuff, there is absolutely no advantage to using silver based solder over lead based solder other than making the solder manufacturer a few more bucks in buying $70 per roll solder over $19 per roll solder.

2 good nights (think youtube needs to fix their API whatever to match Googles Chromecast (wait a min it's the same company) since the API was updated youtube videos from the chrome browser don't work :( even after the update. so back to the computer for me. Always a good pick me up when the blond shows up :) even if we just get the secretaries hair. ;) Think Ms PacMan took it outside :( remember when I first started looking at pinball games on ebay many of them were outside X_X got a torch. be better in Dovetastics microwave (people complained about you throwing pinballs off the roof? I'm still getting over him torching an old working home video game smh on fire. yes but so does the Iphone 4 in the microwave. As for Silver Solder. but they are still smoking but thats their fault not yours :P

so, im about to purchase one of these, and am traveling 500 miles to get it. right as Todd starts playing it he says, "You know how the game works," and moves on to another machine. llllllllllllllllmao - i watched all that to see 8 Ball Deluxe - and Todd cuts me off, just as i think im about to get lucky! Todd, do you go on dates and "forget" your wallet, too?
