When using SS bolts one needs to use anti-seiz to prevent the nuts from galding to the bolts. Because of similar metals. I learned the hard way, actually was just using fingers to tighten and they galded.Copper anti-seiz is best.

@@skeeterfan3626 They would have used a large forklift. Not very exciting, just like unloading a pallet with a strap or two. Even those large combine headers are that heavy as they have to hang of the feeder housing just like the smaller ones.

black bands break easy under stress. we had wood bomb racks with black bands, and we had to exchange or even change the bands to zinc bands, in metal bomb racks, which hold better

U had a similar battery failure with one of the other white trucks. Orange truck's been decent to u so far. Dont jinx it with changing colors. But i wood get rid of the black roof. White, silver will reflect the suns heat

If I remember correctly from working on a friend's old 379 Peterbilt runs there batteries in pairs , my buddy's truck had 4 batteries and then had 2 positive cables and 2 negative cables up to the starter, not sure if yours is set up like that.

Especially living in Arrizona Orange & Red take the most abuse in the Sun.! The trucks run on a 24 volt system so you can only have 2 hooked together parallel and then they can hook in series to just give same voltage but more amps. Or vice versa I know one way doubles voltage and other doubles amps..

Just take the positive ,or the ground wire off and run on three bats till you get home ,there is a bad cell in that one it's shorted out that's why it's heating up the others just pull the ground and go on that's why there is 4 batteries you can drive it four months like that

Hey Dan I noticed that you said that you broke a couple bolts while trying to fix the step on your truck!! I was wondering if you ever use some kind of lube on the threads of the S.S. Bolts before tightening them up or don’t end up using anything??? I have ran into breaking S.S. Bolts before and found that if I put just a little bit of grease or something that will help lube up the threads that they won’t end up breaking on me and also makes it much easier to remove them when needed!!! If they have been on for quite a while and the lube has wore off just put some lube on what ever is not covered by the nut before trying to remove!! After I had broken so many S.S. Bolts and having to buy more and being so pricey I had to find out why they would keep gulling up and become impossible to even get the nut to move at all!! That was when I had found out that I needed to lube up the threads on the bolts!!! Hopefully that will help you out if you didn’t already know???!!! Awesome video and remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!!

Stainless steel fasteners although rust resistant, are a soft material and will snap / break easily - be careful not to over torque. Use a thread lock compound for a little piece of mind on the smaller ones.

Hi Dan Just wondering if your batteries are wired in two sets of 12 volts. I. E. Two bank's of 12 volts but double the amp hours. So only one bank of 12 volts is used for your generator. But then the two banks of 12 volts are connected in parallel for the engine itself. E. G. Each battery is say 600 amp hours each and the generator takes 900 amp hours so only 2 batteries are needed in parallel to operate the generator. Then the cables from both bank's are then wired in parallel for the engine, let say the engine needs 1600 amp hour's to start it. But for all the ancillaries all 4 batteries the full 2400 amp hour's are needed at maximum usage. This is just a thought on why all 4 batteries are not got jumper connection on all 4 terminals, the 4 positive and the 4 negative. The colour of the truck will be great in any colour you choose as it will be a colour you like.
