Exactly the solution I was looking for. Only had to embed it into some VBA code. Thanks Richard. Now I only need to find a way to convince Access to not truncate imports after 255 characters... but that's another story.

@@599CD Had that. Didn't work. Actually there were two viable solutions. As Access is by default only looking up the first 8 records one solution was to put a dummy record at the beginning containing >255 chars in the specific column. The other working solution would have been to adjust the related registry entry value for 'TypeGuessRows' which default value is 8. The latter is a bit of a hassle with IT security not being a fan of registry adjustments, so I went with solution #1 and it works just fine.

Professor, i have a field (Customer name) consisting of: Last name and First name For example: Marque Diaz Clive Lynech Sean Losche I have to make a QUERY that lists the Last Name got at least 5 characters and the last character of the last name is "e" For example: Marque Diaz (valid) Clive Lynech (valid) Sean Losche (unvalid) Thank you!

@@599CD i made automated charts using Access with a data table below showing the data for every criteria in chart. However thr numbers in the data table are always without separator. What i need ia to be able to convert the numbers to USD currency. Ex:1,000$ instead of 1000
