I'm thinking about being a bus driver bus concerned about the whole not allowed to clock in part but still have to warm the bus up and all that. To me, once I need to start doing work then I should be clocked in. Do you get paid for the pre-trip inspection?

All you have to do is check in at your original check-in time and then do your pre-trip inspections. The inspection takes at least 10 minutes to complete, so we all do our pre-trip check-in and then pull off. That way, we aren't late for the first pick-up in the morning. You have to think about something like traffic, accidents, or road closures, so that's a judgment you'll have to make.
