I write how u feel, a list of what I would like to do today, 5 things im grateful for, a small part and 5 things like I am beautiful I am smart ect. I always ended it with love me. I also like giving myself the first hug. It sounds silly but before I give love out I love myself first. Trust me it makes me feel good and happy just to be me. Xxx

This is an amazing video, thanks Amy. First thing in the morning I like to work right away a little bit for my *A* task. So I dive right into the life that I want. This could be research, learning a new skill, making notes or read about a certain topic. Doing this it almost does not matter anymore how the day turns out to be retrospectively because I moved forward, even a tiny bit, and didn't let a bad day, procrastination or excuses to be in my way. Not so long ago I found myself in a place where I felt that my life was too exhausting and demanding to be something that anyone could enjoy. One of the many gears that changed my perspective was and is to be thankful to the (also) little things in my life, and write three of them down. + morning coffee + fast internet connection + cuddles with my cats + the sea breeze at my home town + the nice service I received yesterday + ... Of course I add here and there a 'big' thing in my life, just dont forget the small ones that I almost seem to be natural. _ Coffee is a perfect example for me. It is always around us, but it is a handpicked fruit._ Have a great day guys! 👍

I enjoy waking up early, i NEVER thought i would be that kind of person, because as a teenager, i would wake up at 11 or at noon. i don't always wake up at 5, sometimes it's at 6, but i do try to do it as often as i can. i just arrive at work an hour earlier, which means i have a quieter morning, more productive, and can get out of work by 4 :)

As a daily writer, I chuckled. Yes, I do wish I was a more regular vlogger, lol. But writing every day is great for charging the creative cells. I love morning pages though I actually have to put those off until later because that initial burst in the morning is some of my most creative time and is best spent on my novel of the day. I also love the meditation aspect. One of the things that I have done is two different types. One is the traditional sitting up and releasing everything, but the second is the one I actually use to wake up on the days when I don't feel like I want to start my day. For this, I get my eye stones out of the fridge (you can use a reusable eye mask too) and stretch out with a guided meditation track with the cold stones on my eyes. The cold stones wake me up and reduce some of the puffiness while also giving me a few minutes beneath the covers. The cold of the stones and the natural end of the track prevent me from falling asleep, at least so far. I love the idea of making a list of who I want to reach out to. I want to get better about staying in touch with friends and letting them know I care as well as getting over my aversion of networking. Mornings are my best times for getting anything done. Afternoons, especially between 1 and 4 and most especially 3 o clock, are my worst. And I need to be careful about not getting too ramped up as it gets close to bedtime. Anyway great video. Your dress is stunning, and I appreciated your thoughts.

Setting an alarm clock in the EVENING has helped me a lot with this! So, for example, I set an alarm for 9:45pm which gives me a 15-minute warning before I'm supposed to be in bed. I also think that you have to *gradually* start to go to bed earlier, otherwise you could end up lying in bed and NOT sleeping which is super frustrating! But day by day, even just 5 or 10 minutes earlier each night, helps a lot with getting to bed earlier. Hope that helps! 💙
@VeggieMagnifique6 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Well done. :) It's so true that when you have to get up early and you haven't gotten enough sleep, you're certainly TOTALLY spent at the end of the day and ready to get to bed! :)

The first two things I've been doing in the mornings, after I open my shades, are hopping in the shower and drinking a tall glass of lemon water,( or lime water or orange water if I don't have lemon) and after that I feel really awake. If the weather is nice, I like to have my water, and later my breakfast, which I saver along with my coffee outside on my family's balcony.

Oh I like the idea of doing Duolingo first thing in the morning! It's something I've tried off and on and am always falling out doing, but starting the morning off with it might just work. I think I'm on a three month streak of five a.m. mornings. One kid or another was always waking up at five and now my mind thinks it's the time that I need to wake up even when no one else is awake. And so, while it used to be annoying (being woken up that early when I really didn't want to be) it's working out now (I've been getting up and using the time to edit). As always thanks for the great tips for being productive first thing in the a.m.

Love this video. So many great tips and points! I’m excited to keep striving to reach my ultimate kick-ass productive morning (I’ll call it the A+ morning). Right now I’d say my mornings are sitting at a solid C+ when I am able to incorporate any one of these things, or just make time for myself in any way, where I’m not just rushing through getting ready and getting to work. I can personally account for what a difference something as simple as savoring your coffee can be. I notice such a difference in my mindset throughout the day when I’m not rushing through my coffee and/or drinking it on the go. I also like to listen to some peaceful music or meditations during my cup of coffee (my introspective time), and then I switch to more upbeat music to get me moving. Music is a great tool for me personally in the mornings. It can really influence my mood and I’ve had some success linking certain styles of music with actions or habits, so now I can “trigger” a more productive morning simply by turning on music I associate with things I want or need to do.

@maya-vz1wm6 жыл бұрын
If you can’t wake up at 5 try and sleep earlier. If you can’t do that, since being a mother would make that difficult, you don’t need to. Wake up early. But you don’t have to wake up at 5am just because some other people do it. Maybe take easy steps. Sleep at 10 and wake up at 6. Then sleep at 9:45 and wake up at 5:45 then 9:30 wake up at 5:30 then 9:15 and be awake at 5:15 then finally try and sleep at 9 and wake up at 5. It’s currently 7:55 in Australia and I’ll be shutting my phone of in 5 minutes. I’m still a young adult and am not a legal adult so I try and get 8 hours of sleep. So I shut off my phone at 8, sleep at 9 wake up at 5 and begin to use my phone at 6. Baby steps! Remember! 😊

Those water, writing, workout can only be done after standing up...so please i really need to get up at the moment👍👍
@heatherpruner22846 жыл бұрын
Friyal Cullen I feel you! This is why I started putting my phone (which is my alarm clock) in the bathroom at night. I set one alarm that is just loud enough to wake me up (something pleasant like the harp or piano one on the iPhone). It lets me slowly wake up for a minute or so, and get my bearings....then I have another set to go off about 5 mins later that is much more assertive (like the bell tower of Klaxon alarm). I usually try to get up and into the bathroom before this one even goes off, but if it does, I usually have my husband elbowing me at that point (and it’s hard for me to sleep through anyway;). Since I have to go all the way to the bathroom to turn it off, there is no snoozing. I’m already in the bathroom, so I might as well go pee, wash my face...and by that time, I’m pretty much up! Bonus: This method prevents the temptation to be on your phone while lying in bed, spending precious sleeping hours scrolling through FB live feed.😬

Mel Robbin’s has a book on the 5 Second Rule. She had trouble not hitting snooze and came up with it. You basically count Dow. 5 4 3 2 1 then jump out of bed and get going. I think it’s the mantra and it’s easy to remember and do. You might check her out to see if that helps

Then I do my planning in my Passion Planner, a little bit of journaling if I need to about my goals, and then I have my devotions and prayer time. I actually like to work out midday because I work from home and it gives me a reason to get off my butt and go get some sunshine. I like your ideas a lot, and I will try and see what works for me.... as soon as hell-January (exam month) is over haha. I like the idea of making a daily meal plan if there were no time for making a weekly one. Otherwise, the food budget and waste really becomes a mess... I also try to be more social, so I love the idea of spending a few minutes thinking about who you miss speaking to and maybe plan a call in the evening to this person to talk or schedule a day to meet for coffee. I am a fan of writing 3 goals in the morning that can be both work-related and personal. It can both be 2 work goals, 3 practical house goals, or personal motivating things. Ex... Personal/Mindful 3 daily goals: 1) today I want to look people in the eye when they talk 2) Listen more than i speak 3) remember to really breathe Ex... 3 daily House Goals: 1) vacuum the floor 2) Empty the paper-bin 3) Hand wash delicate cloth Ex... 3 daily work goals: 1) Run data through 'SSH software' 2) Review what the research is about 3) Visualize the most basic properties of the data and explain them Cheers :D

Eclectic Alu as a follow up to the melatonin idea, my doctor specifically recommended taking melatonin with dinner! It needs time to absorb. It doesn’t work immediately.

I go to sleep at 10 pm or 10:30 and wake up at 5 AM , and the first thing I do is brush my teeth and freshen up which helps a lot

I wake up at 5am so i can take the most aesthetic pictures. Y'all should try it. One time, the moon and two stars aligned to make a right angled triangle. It was just fascinating😊

What helps me wake up is having automated lights and having music start playing shortly after my alarm. Then I have no excuse for “it’s dark outside, I should go back to sleep” and listening to music puts me in a good mood. I like the food planning idea, even if it’s just the meals for the day, having a game plan makes it easier to avoid junk food.

As I was watching I was thinking ‘lemon water, check! Workout, check! Oh I really ‘should’ be doing morning pages... reading, check’ Then you got to the connections list... OMG mind blown!! I’m going to put a notepad on my phone so it’s the first thing I do in the mornings now. Genius!!! Thanks 😘

This came at the PERFECT moment. I just saw this after I woke up at 6AM (which I just started doing today) and got ready and then I was like... what DO I actually do with all this time now? THANK YOU❤

#10 Connections List - Amy I have been trying to create a system for myself to be better about keeping on top of my contacts and connections/network. Do you have any tips in this area? I would love a video about how you manage your contacts (Personal, professional, various circles). How do you manage frequency of contact/methods of communication...that sort of thing?

One of the weekly things I do to save time for getting up early is I plan my wardrobe 7 days ahead, so i feel put together and don’t have to run around finding things to wear. 👍😀

These are great tips. I have always been an early riser but I love the idea of having a goal or a specific reason behind it. Thanks for the great videos. You're inspirational, and super funny.

I’ve been working on this a lot lately, too... with lots of setbacks, but hey... still trying. The main things I want to fit in before my kids wake up are... Exercise (walking while watching a tv show on my tablets gets me going), journaling (I write slow, so I can only fit in 1 page... plus, a few lines for my 10 year journal), and scripture study. However, my biggest hangup to getting up early is getting to bed at a reasonable time. I NEED a certain amount of down time where I can chill and finish up my day before I can go to bed... and for that to happen, I need to get the kids to bed by a certain time, which means I have to get dinner on the table by a certain time... which means the chain of events to make it all work starts around 3 or 4 pm and needs to go well in order to get in what I need and want to so that I can and will go to bed in time to be able to wake up early. Writing it out in detail helps so I don’t forget steps and keep it all flowing.

All these early-rising tips are awesome! I can use all the help and encouragement you can offer. ;) I especially enjoyed your last tip, to make communication so intentional. A lady came to mind who impacted my life when I was fifteen years old, and I've always wanted to write her and TELL her. Why haven't I? :) Thanks, Amy!

Danson for Joy Please write to her as soon as possible. I started writing a letter to someone who contributed to my life as a young girl. She was so loving and I don’t think she got the love back. I wanted to tell her how much I appreciated her love and care. Unfortunately, I left the letter unfinished and she passed away. One of my regrets.

I get up at 5 because I leave for work at 6...so unfortunately a nice cup of coffee is all I have time for (oh and pet the kitty and kiss the hubby as I leave). All great ideas. I prep on Sundays...including my wardrobe for the week. Dinners I have to work on :)

Ah I love this. I used to be a morning person, was super productive then. But, now my schedule is dictated by my husband's since I'm his caretaker. And he is biologically a night owl (always has been) so without a job to force him into a 'normal' daily pattern he follows that rhythm now. Getting to bed before 3 or 4 am just never happens for me. I'm mulling over these steps to maybe just create a routine for whenever I get up - as long as it's when he's still asleep I get "me" time to focus and work before getting going with his routine.
