The king three of hearts hand is interesting, it shows how wide people are prepared to call preflop for 8 times the big blind raise, its ridiculous, its just goes to show the level of gamble from low stakes players, you can make a fortune playing somewhat tight in the streets through these fishes, Hope everyone on the site are feeling good, best regards Chemo man!! The straight draw against kings was still a good fold when he moved to put you all-in (we won't mention the mistake on the flop that got you in the predicament; Zeus covered that.). You were getting breakeven odds at best against an overpair to your straight, or two pair, and worse against pretty much anything else. Got on a 4-8 limit table with one rack of $1 chips and everyone else had 3-4 racks stacked up. lots of raising. after a couple of hours of not getting anywhere I was in $10 bomb pot with 7-6 off suit. hit a 6 on the flop and a 7 on the turn. Went all in with my remaining 5 chips. Won the bomb pot and won my $100 back with that pot. It was getting late, so I found my wife at another table, and we headed south.

Zeus, I'm afraid Doug didn't listen to your discussion on polarized betting. Maybe sit him down and go over that nut flush hand as an example of when and how to polarize. When you have the nuts, bet large and get raised. Your opponent is polarized. Raise your brow, look back at your cards, take a count of the pot, pretend you are thinking and then make "the nut flush blocker bluff". Way overbet the pot, add your call plus a raise to the pot as a minimum, double that for max value/pressure. Bluffs are folding anyway. The bottom of the value range will fold between fold to a smaller raise but will more likely bluff catch a polarized sizing. You will miss value from some hands but realistically looking at the hierarchy of possible hands. Anything less than a flush is really a bluff catcher once you raise even a chip. Oddly, your small raise was polar itself, the exact same hands calling that small raise are likely calling a shove. Between you and me Zeus, I think Doug will crush his year end goal. Keep him focused on the game Zeus.

A7s: Vs a UTG open, especially shortstacked, I just fold pre. JTo: Villain bet nearly 2/3 pot on the flop. What makes you think he doesn't have much? The raise seems to be a polarization error to me. T6s: I think I'd try a check-raise here. The bet doesn't get much to fold. If he doesn't bet, you get a free card.
