That combined with the fact that he is not afraid of failure make him a menace. That being said, i believe he will be most useful in situations where we are down and need to override the opponent's defense. He really is tireless.

I'm Portuguese, I can tell you since the start of the century we always had some of the most talented players in the world. That is not the issue. The issue is what's inside their brains. In games of do or die, those semi finals, finals, against same level teams, we always crack like a nut. There's a mental blockage that prevents their full potential. The fear of losing is always greater then the will to win. We don't have that knife in the teeth, go-get-them mentality. Under coach Santos that was blatant. And I can guarantee that if we get Germany, our historic undertaker, we will lose. Doesn't matter what form both teams will be, we will lose. Unless Martinez can inject some confidence, tenacity and competitive boldness into the lads, the semis will be as far as we go

Germany is definitely the one we always lose to. Historically every team has their strengths against X team and weaknesses against X team. That usually has to do with how the different styles of football mesh and clash, but in the case of Portugal vs Germany, it might have to do with how "cold" they are VS how "emotional" we are in general

Honestly when he managed Belgium I just wasn't a fan of him. I thought he consistently wasn't achieving what Belgium should have. Hazard, Lukaku, KDB etc I just felt he should have done more, but then I looked at the squad and realized some of them simply weren't built like that. I think this might be one of the most fascinating Ronaldo's we EVER see. I think his leadership will be amazing during this tournament. im not a fan of roberto martinezs work. i was exceptionally angry when he was announced as our new head coach when there was the possible likes of Mourinho out there. I am still not happy with the results so far yes the qualifying games we finished with 10/10wins but the way we won the games was not fully convincing. we saw it in those 4 games were we conceided 8 goals and 2 defeats within 4 games, that we do have our weaknesses. But i have to admit its so good to see someone recognizing bernardos value. Im a big fan of bruno too dont get me wrong but bernardo is so underrated its insane. he does whatever the team needs. wether thats assisting defending creating holding the ball, he can do it all. Pepe will be a key player if Portugal wants to suceed. even with his 41 years he remains our best defender. He has a lot of haters, ive seen all his real madrid games i always knew about his qualities and i can say hes the most underrated defender i have ever witnessed. hes a freaking wall despite not even beeing that tall, hes an absolute monster in the air. I think Pepe and Ronaldo will be a key role for Portugal's success. Also i do think that the system with 3 CB suits Portugal best independantly of the oponent.

People talk to much about Ronaldo, but if his name wasn’t Ronaldo and he was some striker for Porto with the same exact skill set, he would be the obvious choice. He’s good in the air and finishing in the box. They don’t need him to be Ronaldo of old.

It's the funnest team. it's a Fifa FUT team. You have 2 icon players like Ronaldo and Pepe. Then you also have the future icon cards or something to go with it. This team is the best team even if they don't win because of their variety of age and race. There from all kinds of different leagues. Rio is an icon card and he is almost the same age as ronaldo and pepe. Maybe the manager played Fifa and that's what he's basing his strategy on.
