As Muslims continue to mobilise for Gaza this general election, a bitter feud has erupted in Blackburn, pitting three pro-Palestine candidates against each other.
With neither camp showing signs of backing down, Labour look set to record another easy win in a seat they should have witnessed a serious threat.
Robert Carter headed up to Blackburn to investigate who commands the Muslim anti-Labour vote and if the split will end.

All this mud slinging and backbiting to get your colonial master to represent the MUSLIM community was an utter disgrace. Adnan represented the Muslim voting block there. Yes Tiger brought your man some votes with him but truly how much votes outside the Muslim vote did the communist get??? Why does Murray think the non-Muslim community of Blackburn wouldn't vote for Adnan??? Murray seriously needs to grow up if he thinks people who have grown up with and are familiar with the Asian community wouldn't feel an Adnan could represent them. Sure if you aren't from Blackburn and are alien to Asian then them feelings are normal but this is not that. If Adnan withdraw, trust your Murray wouldn't have won. He wouldn't have got the Muslim vote because he just doesn't represent Muslims by his identity and ideology. LABOUR would have won and without Tiger, he wouldn't have got close to the numbers he got. That was a lie. They invited him in for the possibility of running well before the election was called. They choose Adnan because he was the best option and the reason they decided against Murray was because he wanted to stand as a member of the workers' party. Craig needs to go back and never return to Blackburn.

I understand and respect the sentiment. But let's be honest with ourselves, even when people raise their voices against the oppression, when it comes to vote, only Muslim vote will matter. Others will vote Labour because they fear Reform etc. Only Muslims will be willing to actually vote selflessly against their own domestic interests to help their brethren abroad. Others just won't do that. Of course there are exceptions and again we are grateful to those people. But that doesn't change the overall reality of things.

There are millions of non-Muslims who are against the massacre in Gaza, and there are many many Muslims, even politicians, who will sell out and support Labour. If Muslims and non-Muslims do not have a viable political option, then the vote will be dispersed. Both Muslims and allies must vote for the Workers' Party in Blackburn. In other places, it's Workers' Party or an independent. We can't divide support for Gaza.

While I'm supportive of a local, Muslim candidate, Craig does indeed have the experience to be an effective independent candidate. We've elected plenty of Muslim candidates but how many have actually represented the views of the Muslim constituents? Muslims need to realise that just because a Muslim MP might share their faith and even skin tone, it doesn't translate into material differences in parliament. I personally don't like the fact that Craig isn't local but i don't feel Adnan has what it takes at the national level to articulate Muslim voices

CANDIDATE from the SAME CONSTITUENCY does have it MERITS but nevertheless is NO CERTIFICATE that one GENERALLY CARES for that COMMUNITY or the BEST for theCOMMUNITY, a GOOD TRACK RECORD on REAL ISSUES is the TRUE MERIT. I come from Devon and I'm not Muslim but I'm totally behind Craig and all of the people trying to get these vile Labour MPs out who are just party to misery and genocide. I loathe them they should never be anyone near power. From a Buddhist perspective this kind of behavior will land them in the deepest darkest hell for a very very long time but they obviously don't realize that at the moment.

We have to be careful who is backing these candidates. We already know a candidate is standing against Feinstein on the Palestine ticket who has a right wing councillor wife and is obviously trying to split the vote. One of the candidates (Tiger Patel) standing against Murray is an ex Conservative for example and only seems to be standing because he has a personal grudge. Murray is far more qualified than the other candidates and he would be a formidable opponent holding Starmer to account. The others not so much.

I actually think it's 5 Pillars' duty to endorse Craig Murray as the only real Gaza candidate, if we're talking broadly what's best for Muslims at home and abroad, and in particular in resolving the Gaza issue, the reason we're all here. There has to be a Muslim consensus first, which will ultimately influence the national consensus. That can't happen with a divided Muslim vote. Vote for Craig Murray and the Workers' Party. 🇵🇸
