They grew up and grew out of that sound and I understand that their music genre now might not be great for some fans but I really hate when people treat bands and artists as things and not people. People grow and change and their music changes with them. I don't think anyone was a real fan if they immediately just dip when the music isn't the same anymore. You don't have to like it anymore but appreciate that they took time to figure out who they wanted to be

At the beginning you see them sitting on the train in the order of them joining the band. At first you see Luke (Luke started it with his covers). Then you see Luke and Michael (Michael joined Luke making covers) and then Calum (he joined Luke and Michael making the covers) and lastly Ashton joined them and they formed the band we all know and love!

I have no one to share this with so I’m gonna drop this here. After the 5sos show a friend and I stayed at a hotel near the venue and an hour later we walked down by the lake to look at the water and the lake was near the venue we just watched the show at so we were just chillin watching the lake, it was about 11:00 pm and then we heard a buzzing sound and we look to the left and a mans riding down from behind the venue on a Segway and he gets closer and ITS CALUM he taps my shoulder while riding past and says “hi” and smiles I think he saw our 5sos shirts but it was the most wholesome interaction ever

My easter egg theory: 1. They used to take the train to all their gigs before being famous- their safe space 2. "Ashes on thr floor" + the car driving off is Ashton's dad leaving him 3. Cal and the football is Cal giving up going pro to sing with his best mates 4. The business man on fire is the old management team of theirs who let their best interest go up in flames 5. The one direction homage 6. Baby luke writing and playing showed dedication to his craft from such a young age 7. Their authenticity of being a band comes from the simplest of places ie a garage or kitchen 8. The throwback of their fans with signs( and not phones) at their 1st set of shows 9. The homage to their 1st show - The annandale 10. I have to say, as a 67yo woman, this song is timeless. In fact, the longer you're alive, the more this song speaks to you. It really is like their journey train. It started eith just Luke, and then Mike boarded, followed by Cal, until Ash joined. Those little kids remade the iconic photos and videos of 5SOS. They showed those moments which we will never forget. And when their younger versions joined the train, I really love it. The last clip was their performance in 'Fire Fight Australia', which is clever, since they did it for their home country. And that's their train's last destination.

I agree, I will always love their present selves, but I also miss their teenager selves. You can tell that both versions of them put all they have into their music, but the teenager versions were definitely both immature and reckless, and even their music is far different. Their old stuff was like pop-rock/something-I-can’t-describe and their newer stuff is more just pop (well, not JUST pop because they’re 5sos for goodness sake, but you get the point lol). Also, now that they’ve grown up they’ve become more mature, as you’d hope they would, and they also got more professional with their career. I’m not saying they weren’t serious about their career when they started, but that they had a lot more fun and didn’t really care what happened back then. I don’t know, I guess their older era (sgfg era/late 2014) is the era I fell in love with, and even though they’ve changed from my preferred era, I’m still gonna stick with them because they’re freaking amazing and I still love them and their music 😊
