Genuinely high key, this was the first (and hopefully not only) time I saw them live, had no clue they were opening for 1D, my parents surprised me with This Is Us tickets for my birthday 😭😭 they opened up and I was absolutely in love, I was so excited no joke I blacked out most of it so I barely remember except for pictures I have, but yeah I feel grateful I got to see them so early on when they finally got popular 🥲 and I was in 4th grade during that..now I'm fr abt to be a senior in hs 🫠

it's just inexplicable how crucial this period of my life was and how it's all burned into my brain especially with them. They shaped my formative years so much yet they don't know who I am but they'll always have a special place in my heart. Especially 2014, since this is when I first discovered them and properly started stanning. I just love em so much, even as they've grown they're still at their core the immature like 17 year olds we met in 2011.

Like watching you guys perform and win at the AMAs was the first time I saw you live in any sort of way, and that was so incredible, like my whole family watched that. I discovered them this year (2014) and I remember being really insecure about it cause 2014 fans were called fake fans and "just in it for the trend" so I even lied to people saying I got into them in 2013 lmao. It's so crazy to me that now us 2014 fans are old fans haha. I'm also glad I got to witness this year go by for them. I said it before but It's so interesting to hear things from their perspective. Also the stunt double thing, sounds obvious but tbh I don't recall it much, I have faint memories of it but I'm not sure if I thought it was them or not lmao

I'm slightly insecure because I've only just gotten into their music but I am from a part of the world that isn't very Westernised and haven't been to any concert, didn't know that emo and punk was a thing. I don't have an excuse for the last 3-4 years really but at least I'm here now? Plus I'm not on social media at all so I can't jump on trends much. But anyway, I'm so glad to be here. They're really amazing. I'm learning so much about music from them.

2014 really sealed the deal for me as part of the 5sosfam. It was such a pivotal year, and I have such fond memories. I joined the fandom before SLSP, so when that dropped and blew up, it was so insane - things went from 0 to 100 and didn't slow down the entire year. All the EP drops, the music videos, the iconic livestreams, the concerts, the first album, their first award shows in the US (I remember watching them perform SLSP live on the BBMAs, they were so nervous, bless). I also saw 5SOS TWICE this year - before I saw them on the SS&MS Tour I remember dedicatedly listening to shitty audio recordings of a lot of their songs, because what they were playing hadn't even been released yet! Don't Stop, Amnesia, Good Girls, 18, etc. (It still blows my mind - I saw them before Don't Stop even came out as a single, or their album was out! Like whaaat?) I was also in the UK when the album dropped, and like the dedicated fan I was I grabbed a copy of the UK edition of the album and of Don't Stop EP as well, so all these years later I feel pretty spoiled having them lol. Then I saw 5SOS again in August during the Where We Are tour (another WTF moment - I saw 5SOS & 1D together, and I don't even remember much of it lmao! I do remember my sister wore 5sos merch to the concert and some 1d fans were pretty pissed at her lmao). Definitely a wild time - and that's just as a fan! I can't imagine how crazy this all was on the other end of things.

I've always been so connected to 5SOS and the year of 2014. At the end of 2014 I sadly lost my friend to suicide and I always have the fondest memory of amnesia blasting in the car and us singing to it loudly together with the windows down. I have been lucky to have seen 5SOS in concert a few times and it makes me emotional everytime I hear amnesia. It is such a joy to have grown up with these boys and to hold such special memories with their music.

I have been a fan of theirs for less than 6 months but I'm so grateful I found them, they're teaching me so much about music and keep me going when it's tough. This was the year I first heard 5sos! Granted I didn't become a fan until 2018 cuz I was only 9 but I vividly remember hauling ass to the tv the second I heard the first note of She Looks So Perfect playing on radio Disney. As a 9 yr old private school girl in Ohio, y'all were the edgiest shit I'd ever seen and young me was enthralled. The lip ring, dyed hair, and cut-off tank tops had me hooked in seconds.
