My installation and review of the Digital Octopus Radio product KWS-1015, I paid for this product myself and I wanted to show others who may be interested in buying this product what it looks like in the car itself and the features of the radio. Just installed mine yesterday. Works well and looks better. Installed camera too and the camera flickered. Had to go into settings and then reversing and put it on NTSE. Then the camera worked fine.

Nice I'm glad to hear that! And yes. My bad I should have mentioned that in the video about the camera but I received the camera a couple days after I installed the radio so I just showed a snippet of how it looks after installed!

Love the video great work explaining have 1 question you figure out how to control the chime like chime setting volume control timer because its very laugh and it stays on forever i some times press the trunk bottom on my keys on accident and the chime keeps going and going thanks you for your time

Lol it's so funny I do the exact same thing but no I have no idea how to control the chime sound unfortunately sorry :/ but I also open my trunk accidentally and then if I'm working on the car and the door is open then the chime goes forever :/ sorryyy :/

Figured out how to change from KPH to MPH. Go to theme. Setting (top right). Plugin. Speed unit. Change to MPH.

Ah yes, I found that out! Have you managed to change the Hvac knobs from Celsius to Fahrenheit? I haven't been able to do that, it doesn't bother me but it would just be better if it was in Fahrenheit lol

I believe it's 4 gigs of ram, and I have not used Apple car play at all honestly... but I have played games on it and watched movies and haven't experienced any lag really

i have 2 questions for you: 1- in regards to glare as you keep mentioning it with camera, my car is a convertible so when i have the top down i know some screens are hard to see so couldn't tell if yours is a vert but when the sun hits it is it hard to see with glare?? 2- Im an old school guy and like to listen to FM radio as being in NYC area we have a ton of stations. Are there a lot of memory spaces like a stock mylink as my radio has like 30 fm stations and how is reception on this radio??

So for your first question my car is actually not a convertible just a hard top with a sun roof but i never open it honestly and I have louvers on the back window so the sun only gets through my door windows which is barely any so I don't have any trouble seeing my screen, but if you were to put your top down i do believe it would be difficult to see the screen because of the sun and glare :/ as with the fm radio, I never use that either honestly lol but it uses your cars stock antenna so the reception is however it was with your stock unit and this device does have more memory as in ram and storage than the stock unit so I'm sure it will have all the same channels your original one did, hopefully that helped!

Hey i just installed mine. Followed everything back up camera wise to connect, but which wire behind the head unit did you use to get power for the back up camera? Anything helps thanks.

Factory back up camera or aftermarket? Aftermarket you tap it into the reverse lights. Factory you buy the Metra Back Up Camera Adapter GMC.

I apologize for taking so long to reply I believe it is a brown wire on the head unit, but if you go to the video in the description, or search up digital octopus radio back up camera installation he will tell you which wire it is. Sorry again for taking so long

Does the steering wheel block the view of the screen any? It looks like it does, but it could just be the camera angle.

No it doesn't I was zoomed out to 0.6x it feels fine to me

I have the remote start on my car, does the heat or AC settings stay on how you leave it so that it kicks in when remotely start the car?

Yes in my automatic I would leave the heater on for the morning bc I had work at 4 am so I'd remote start it and the last setting I would leave on would be active

Is there no way to turn the volume up and down while In CarPlay or on the radio without using the steering wheel buttons?

I believe there are some "home screens" that have a on screen button that let you put the volume up or down, but if you don't have one then I think the steering wheel controls is the only way.

Go to settings, then go to original, then go to normal and change it to Fahrenheit

I had a feeling you would say that lol. You should do a new video now that you are more familiar with the stereo and all the nuances, I would definitely watch that. also there are no good videos showing how people run the backup camera wires in the car.@@Chocolatedog02

​@jaredsaraiva8331 I'm sorry I've been very busy :/ but I haven't really done anything new with my radio just playing music lol, and candy crush and watching movies or KZbin, but if I have time I will try to make an update, also I just ran my wires through the trunk, like the plastic outline, then under the back seats, to the right tucked in by the passenger seat and through the glove box i know that's a terrible description lol but if you go to digital octopus radio for their back up camera installation they show you pretty much how I did it, sorry again for taking so long :/

Yeah, try resetting the device and try it again, I used my Hotspot on my phone as the wifi to download all my stuff, if nothing is working, what I did to download some apps is I downloaded them on the phone (the latest version) then download a Bluetooth sharing app that let's you send apps to another device using Bluetooth and you can send it to the screen using that, it works super well!

Yes it should fit, as long as you had the same stock stereo that the 2010-2015 camaro comes with.

Honestly I probably would because sometimes I watch movies on it or use gps maps when I connect my hot spot to it, and then probably the best part for me is the reverse camera as it's super helpful backing into places like parallel parking or reverse parking so I like it, idk what the price is now for it but for me I haven't had any problems with mine luckily I can not say the same for other people :/

I honestly haven't but everytime I connect Bluetooth my phone trues to connect android auto so I disabled mine :/

I don't remember if it has hdmi or anything like that honestly, but I think there's an app integrated into it that can mirror your phone onto it

Yes you can, you just have to plug your charger cable to the cable coming out of the headunit, (I routed mine through the glovebox) but I believe you can also do it wirelessly, I'm just not sure how to do that 😂🤣

Yeah it works amazing still, makes the car look much better for sure, but it's not the only option out there, there are many others that are good as well that are probably much cheaper, but it's your preference!

@ohhbay8771 honestly you can check Amazon, they have the second one I showed in the video for like 500 or 600 I believe, or you could check aliexpress or alibaba and they have the same radio I showed in the video for able 600-800 much cheaper but they ship from China and idk how warrantys work on those so I decided to pay the extra 500 to get mine in the US so I have warranty and a guide if anything breaks if that makes sense... anyways lol I'd say about 500 is the limit they all do the same thing and I don't drive as much as some people so, just the back up camera helps a lot

Where you changed it at, I think it has the option for am or pm I think? Maybe I'm wrong... I don't remember exactly how I did I but I think I chose the time zone instead of picking the exact time I was at...
