5th Horseman is a Seriously Gnarly North Shore Trail

What a cool trail. I would say this trail definitely lives up to its extremely gnarly reputation. The Trailforks description says "about as difficult as it gets on Cypress" (and by extension, the shore in general). It's not often that I'm unable to get through the ride around but I have zero shame on the crux section of this one. Hope you enjoy both the speedy bits and contemplation moments of this one, it's a doozy.

5th Horseman; quite the ominous trail name 1st Horseman - he came out conquering and to conquer. 2nd Horseman - its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another. 3rd Horseman - Its rider held a pair of scales in his hand. Famine followed. 4th Horseman - Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed with him.

One weekend last summer, I said to my friends "I want to go ride 5th Horseman." They were all up for it, but were surprised it was my idea. They all did just fine (rode everything but the spot Dale skipped), I got my ass kicked the whole way down. 5th gets harder every year, as it erodes and becomes more and more janky. @@DaleStone Yeah, it didn't really help me, reduced testosterone might be my problem.... The run out of the section you passed on has gotten worse and worse, the rolls just above have stayed about the same. The rock roll where your buddy hooks his front and lurches aquardly is easier, that used to not be a line, you had to go to the right of the tree there and transfer over to the rock. For reference, watch Kenny Smith if you can find it, he gaps it at ludicrous speed (granted , it's on a DH bike, but still).
