You can actually use the 4x4 oll parity algorithm but instead of using regular wide moves you use wide moves + middle layer at the same time. Basicly just move the outer layer and 2 inner layers at the same time

Interesting. I usually do r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2 (where small letters are inner layers), but both algorithms have 15 moves, so they're equally good. I just think it's interesting that there are many different moves for the same thing. I also like this algorithm (both your and my variant) because it's useful on bigger cubes, too.
@page28886 жыл бұрын
Easy way to remember or memorize this is Each Rm is always followed by u2 and each Lm is always followed by F2 Rm’ , U2 means start right side Rm reverse , Lm , F2 , Lm’ F2 , means left side ( fwd and reverse) Rm2 , U2 - the Rm2 number 2 means next to follow right side 2 more times (fwd & rev.) Rm , U2 , Rm’ , U2 , - right side fwd & reverse as mentioned above 2 times F2 , Rm2 , F2 - end

"easy" way to memorize: R.L.L.R.R.R.R - powers of 2 alternating R and L, last R set ends double U.F.F.U.UF.F - 1, 2 each U group followed by 2 F's alternated primes, skip the doubles :D hope this helps...
@balloonbunny-3714 жыл бұрын
I prefer the fight between two people lol. R vs L After rights U2. After lefts F2. R goes first L responds L goes again before R so R hits back hard with a double then finishes L off with a combo. After that you just do f2 to align the top and side. Then R2 F2 to fix it.

0:34 If there's two such edges that each need the parity algorithm, you don't need the parity algorithm to solve them both. You can instead put two such edges next to each other, then move the middle out, use the edge flipping algorithm which you usually need to know anyways for the last few edges, then finally move the middle back.
@DonnyPetit2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is a great time-saver! Furthermore, if you're just working on edges and didn't wait to fix this until you're done solving as 3x3, you can leave out the final F2, and instead of the Rm's, you can just include the rightmost layer (i guess that'd be an Rw instead of an Rm)

THAT'S A BUNCH OF STEPS TO MEMORIZE IN THA LONG ALGORITHM THAT I FIND ARE NOT REALLY FASTER THAN JUST SELECTING THE WRONG CUBE(COLOR BACKWARDS) AND JUST MOVING IT OUT TEMPORARILY, THEN INSERTING IT BACK INTO THE SAME SPACE BUT COLOR ALIGNED CORRECTLY - TAKES WAY LESS TIME AND ONE LESS ALGORITHMS TO LEARN - TRY IT AND SEE HOW MUCH FASTER IT IS TO JUST SWITCH ONE IN AND THEN SWITCH IT BACK CORRECTLY
