Cool to see the NS hazmat train.The new unit won't stay clean for long!

I''m sure they clean it more frequently than their other units, because it is an icon that is supposed to be presented to the public.

I really enjoy the Macon action. You sure do jump around a bit but worth it. Just got a Baofeng scanner for Dalton action. I am also a ham radio operator (KF8DO) so i can use the transceiver function on 2 meters! There is the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway up here that tourists take. Believe new owners (NE Georgia RR) had to buy it in addition to other ops. Below me is an abandoned line (NE?) that parallels GA 515. Would be a great rails to trails conversion.
@mbmars01
@mbmars01 6 жыл бұрын
Great you have a scanner now. That makes it easier to follow the trains, although you should not actually dry out in Dalton.
@markklinefelter9263
@markklinefelter9263 6 жыл бұрын
Did you say, "not to try it in Dalton"? Was going to go to Dalton this am with my wife and scanner but stayed home due to fog; like you probably had further south.
@mbmars01
@mbmars01 6 жыл бұрын
Lol, I meant you ain't gonna run out of trains in Dalton. That's why it is not as important to have a scanner there as it is at other places, where it can take hours before a train comes by if one is unlucky. Well, trains in the fog look cool. We just had a little bit of fog in the morning.
@markklinefelter9263

LOL, the joke is on me....Waiting for trains is more or less like watching paint dry. CSX needs to get their restructuring done by CEO. Lots of layoffs, companies fleeing to CSX competitors. If they did get their act together in Dalton I WOULDN'T need a scanner!

You also clipped NS's HazMat Safety Train at the North End of Brosnan Yard at 7th St. led by the NS 5642 GP38-2. Hopefully I can't reside there yet, cause NS #5642 was titled, "Training First Responders." This First Responders unit is supposed to say "Honoring First Responders." Next time you see a First Responders unit trailing on a train, it could be either SD60E #911 (Honoring First Responders) or GP38-2 #5642 (Training First Responders). Deal?

I find it very interesting that EMD NS #6945 has dirty windows on the engineer's side but the conductor/fireman's side is practically clean as a whistle! Any idea why? Trainnut1958 🇺🇸🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
