I got cold chills when you went under to cut the cable without any type of safety

idk but all the noises your gradall made when shutting down was funny and pleasing.

Looks like a great way to pull the engine and trans, a lot easier than disassembling the front and fighting the small space trying to pull it. Take care Mr and Mrs JC and stay safe!

Yes the exhaust manifold bolts on at least the 6.0 and also the 8.1 common problem due to engine flex under load

J Moffett seems to be a great channel! Building trailers and Cummins repairs, right up my alley! Sell that frame all together someone would put a 57 cab over body on that 👍

Great video J.C 🙂👍 Glad to see the powerplant get some good use. That engine will be a nice upgrade for that square body crewcab.

I'm glad your strap didn't break while you were under it 🤠
@naithanbohan47304 жыл бұрын
Idk if youve ever worked on a service body, they really arent all that heavy. The strap is easily rated at 4x the weight of that box.

i used to mount these bodies in a plant in atlanta and believe me these straps do break

Not to sound negative..but why chop shop a running service truck ? Maybe i missed that in the video idk . I believe its worth more as a unit than parted out..at least it would be here
@j.c.smithprojects4 жыл бұрын
If it were worth more whole, that is how I would have sold it. It had running issues and rust issues.

Well sure that will make Chuck a happy camper. That just kills me when I see things like loose bots on transmissions or when they are missing and you know that is more common than you would think, I dont get how guys can not check to make sure they put all the bolts on and tightened them down, like how long does it take to have a look. Whats even worse is most people just assume that the transmission shop or the guy at the local garage or that shade tree guy put it all back right, but honestly that drives me crazy to see that, like take some pride in things Ah well , made short work of that, one project down another... wait how many is that to go...lol

Fun fact, the bolt that looks like it's missing from the bellhousing doesn't actually exist. I've grew up a GM guy and still am I suppose but I won't own a 6.0 after watching my dad pour money into one, and getting to swap the original engine out for a low mile one from a wrecked truck after it walked a cam bearing out.
@841k94 жыл бұрын
I have 4.8s, 5.3s and 6.0s in my fleet. They all have cam issues in fleet use. Hard drivers and heavy loads destroy them quickly. I lucked out this year with a deal on a new 2020 Express 2500 with a 4.3 v6. Absolutely the best gas engine GM still puts in a truck.
