Excellent fabrication skills. Good eye and foresight for the different shapes of the body. Good little helper too.

Really like your vids. Very well done. Excursion's will eventually be in the classic category, with a solid fan-base. I'm lookin' to restore/upgrade my 01' Exc Limited V10 as well👍

Those look amazing Rob! You and your little helper did a great job! I have the same fender flares sitting in the garage for over a month now because I have not been able to figure out the fitment issues with the rear ones that you just solved for me. If you can share a couple of measurements on where to cut between the door and fender, I would greatly appreciate it. God bless you and your family!

Very much appreciate it! Yes sir, I will get you some measurements in a few days. Work has me all over the place right now.

The cut is 2.5 inches back from the leading edge of the fender flare at the bottom. But I didn’t measure to make the cuts, simply mount them up and cut down the door gap.

Do be aware, although I think you already know, fenders flares will scratch your paint like what you saw just mocking it up, except it will be a complete ring as you keep them on over the years due to vibration and rain, snow and all that combined. Best of luck tho, just thought I’d let you know in case you didnt

Hey Rob, looks great! I will have to tackle the same task as you did here with the flares. Dilemma I am having is the 99-05 flares you used for the back are 6.5" tall and the flares for the 11-16 front fenders you will eventually end up with when your done your front end conversion are 7.25" tall. Are you just going to live with the aesthetic difference from front to back? I am considering getting the 11-16 flares for the back and doing the same modifications you did to them so they match front to back height wise - even though i like the look of the shorter 6.5" 99-05 flares... Never Straight forward unfortunately... Still debating what to do?!?!

You just taught me something! I had no idea! Crap! I will keep you posted on how I think they look together. 3/4 of an inch seems like a huge difference. Please keep me in the loop if you modify 11-16 rear flares for the excursion. If the wheel arch is the same, that might have been the better option considering I already had to modify everything else.

I'm so confused, during the video it looks like you are using the caveman hammer/mallet technique, but in the end looks like a surgeon with a finely tuned scalpel did it, lol... LOOKS GREAT BROTHER!
