I have a 15 S1KR I bought new, when I did I took time to research it and one thing I figured back then was break in is important. It wasn't hard back then to see what happened when you didn't do it, boom and sometimes speed holes in the block. I still have the bike with 3kish miles and haven't a had single issue. Just maintenance like anything else. It's also the only bike I've kept this long although the M1000R is tempting me. Probably the first bike in this series that I see enough performance improvement to justify payments again.

So glad to have some POSITIVE press on the M1000RR and reliability. There have been exactly 3 motors that have gone....(the M1000R is NOT the same motor, its significantly different than the RR). Am I being careful with mine...yes...I was far more careful, even more than 650Ib...as I did 620 miles before first service and was VERY specific on my breakin miles....vice doing them with no plan. I have had zero issues so far, at 1400 miles. I will be doing another oil change at 2000 and will then do my tune and full exhaust provided the used oil is clean. Those that are trying to say they are blowing up everywhere....if they know of ANY beyond MotoMillion, CarWOW, and S1k....those are the ONLY 3 motors. FastlaneD had an issue with his shock and his tire...NOT his motor...he has over 3k on his now with zero motor issues.....and ALL of them ride thier bikes far harder than most do. Its hilarious teh amount of bad press they are given considering how many have actually been affected.

I have a 22 M1KRR with 5k miles, properly broken in, no shitty tunes or parts, bike has had zero issues. People out here rev bombing new engines, dynoing at 100 miles and adding shitty tunes from their homie’s shop….engine grenades then they cry on social media. 😅
@redrider0151Ай бұрын
@@j.taveras8447 I believe that there are some defective batch of bearings or an assembly issue with the 23-24's...as I know that one of the 3 I listed had gone 600 miles on the breakin tune and hadnt been modified whatsoever (was NOT remotely abused). Also, Manny's failure wouldnt have been due to a tune or anything of that sort and I have a hard time believing he was out rev bombing it to the point that it contributed to bearing failure. I am betting that BMW is simply playing the odd's that a recall would cost a LOT more than replacing the engines that blow up while within warranty period (or having been modded so they can deny coverage).

My 22 M1000RR has zero issues 5k miles in. So glad a person who owns one, that follows what the manual says, not urban legends about how to break it in or what their homie at chic-fil-a says. Has quality parts installed by a master tech and wow look……zero issues. Keep listening to cool guys with ratty bikes and their sage street advice, installing parts in your buddies garage with a leatherman and keep crying and spreading rumors on social media when you’re rev bombing and your shit and it implodes.

@@650ib Yes indeed! But I may ask you a question...I will sell my Ducati now because it will be the best time just because of one-year remaining warranty. Next spring I might get into BMW...I tried the S1000R and I loved it!! But I am looking after a little bit more power just for the whole speed range and aiming at the M1000RX or Ducati RS...Problem: I cannot test drive just these models because dealers in Sweden just don't allow this with these limited models...So my question as an owner: would I get this little extra power with the M1000RX I am looking for and is it worth the highter service costs...and WHEN I want to go on a longer ride (3-4 hours) would this go on the M1000XR in relation to comfort and luggage? I am quite tall too (6foot 4) and I felt the S1000XR to be borderline in size...So would really appreciate your experience and comments on that!! Regards from Sweden!!🛵🛵🛵🛵🤗🤗😘
