Debating the 6.5 Creedmoor vs the 7mm-08. I’ll probably go with the 7.

Satisfied w my 6.5 cm…it’s easy to shoot w it’s super lite recoil and puts deer down well enough w the eldx bullets which is all I’ve tried so far…RAP rifle is accurate/dependable

Really great ethical shot.

I use 129 gr with 1 gr less than Hornandy max load. Same results and less expensive than the 143 gr bullet. Under 400 yards this is my go to deer load.

well the Swedes and Norwegians have been shooting a 6.5 since around 1890 or 1895, and killing moose, stag, and roebuck with their 6.5x55s in the millions over the last century.

.243 is all the rifle you need for deer. Use 100 or 105 grain bullets. Shot placement is everything else.

I've been using .243 for years, but only about the last 5 for whitetail. Before that we could only use them for varmint and pest. Taken a lot of woodchucks and coyotes with 58 to 80 grain bullets. I'm using 100 grain for whitetail. They do say that the 6.5 creed has less recoil than even the .243 though even with heavier projectiles. I've always said if you only had one gun the .243 is the best choice for hunting as it's big enough for deer, and small enough for woodchucks, prairie dogs and coyotes.. Hmm, I've got two .243s and a .556 -.223 AR. The later is normally my go to gun for coyotes anymore, and I don't really know why.

I agree but not nearly all .243’s group well with heavier bullets. Ever seen a target with keyholes for bullet holes? I’ve only seen it once, and that was with a .243 I used to own with all the “deer” loads I could find. Crazy gun would shoot cloverleaf groups with 75 g Hornady custom hollow points, but as you know you don’t to use those for deer.

All “hunting” videos with music immediately get a thumbs down and I stop watching
