I just got a 95 with the 6.5. They relocated the pmd behind the bumper. But they bolted it to the plastic fan shroud. The heat sink was in the glove box. I had to replace the pmd right after I got the truck. Now it sometimes runs good. Sometimes jerks and chugs. The service engine soon light comes on when I go over 1500 rpm. Then shuts off if I go under 1000. But stays on if i go much over 2000 until I shut the truck off. Ive tried a second new pmd and 3 different controller chips for the pmd. The exhaust is pretty clean. No real noticable smoke. The service engine light never came on until I put on the new pmd. Im worried it's the injector pump. But it will run fine 75mph down the interstate and idol fine. Then it acts up again for a bit then it runs ok again. It's got me stumped.

Rubberducky can you advise me please? So I am sitting at a light in my 96 6.5L, foot on the brake and the engine all of a sudden revs and the truck tries to jump. After a few times (still at the same light) I put it in neutral and the engine is all over the place. Light turns green, try to accelerate, bucking and jerking and copious amounts black smoke. Fortunately only 1/2 mile to home but at turn light into neighborhood, put truck back into gear and it shut down. Cranked, put it into gear, shut down. Repeat. Barely made it through the light. Does it sound like injection pump to you? Thanks.
