Hi Greg. New subscriber here. I have a couple of 2099 and a 2002 schoolies with the 5.9 engines that have oil leaks some where in the front lower part of the engines. I am planning on doing rebuilds on them. I have no experience on diesel engines but have done complete overhauls on gas engines from 4 cyl. to big blocks like the 440 Chrysler engines from the late 60s. I like the way you present the material and your attitude. I have been apprehensive about the Diesel projects but they have to be done so with your encouragement I will take it on with caution but following you close. Thank you. Nolan.

Looking forward to next videos on this. I am at the same point with on 07 5.9. But I have 420,000 on it. 5.9 still running strong but it’s about time to replace some stock parts that never have been done since I bought it with 19,000 miles. It still has stock turbo, injectors, CP3. I have just start with a front main seal leak. I haven’t had to do much with motor. Just did it’s first fan clutch, water pump and radiator. It is a work horse pulling trailers some light and others heavy. Would love for thoughts on some upgrades to keep it going. Not looking for crazy HP numbers just a little extra so it doesn’t have to work as hard to pull trailers and loads. Thanks keep up the great videos!

What was the total cost of your second gen swap? Down pipe, intake pipe, intercooler pipes, manifold and the turbo. I have an 08 as well with 163,xxx miles on it and haven’t had turbo issues thus far but just preparing for the future because I would like to do a second gen swap when it comes time.

So did you or have you had the TIPM issue the 08s are known for? I had to do a rewire for my taillights this past summer but recently lost fog lights. Dealer said my tapping the pillar gauges in caused this but I disagree because the TIPM at the time was on a National back order due to wiring problems period. What did you do to fix this? Budget friendly man here so I have to save or rob banks to get things done. Lol

Towing 30yd roll off dumpster trailers(bravely i might add) with a 6.0, that fucker went thru head gaskets about every 30k. Im so well versed in the disassembly of the 6.0 i could probably do it blindfolded lol. Your trailers probably dont come close to a overfilled 30yd dumpster, but 200k is a pretty good amount of time for a gasket on a work truck
