1) be patient 2) there are parts you will enjoy and parts you wont. 3) chance does play a part in the process. 4) get used to saying no to things. No great achievement comes without sacrifice. 5) shiny new mentor/course/book every week. Stick to the basics. Dont become just consumers. Follow advice. 6) you will need to write a lot. Learn the skill of answer writing. 7)No ego fight with UPSC. Summary for self.

I want to add something in this 1. Believe in yourself that u can do it 2. Dont compare yourself with others 3. Always push your limits 3. Be consistent no matter what 4. Hardwork always pays off 5. You have to go out of your comfort zone to learn anything 6. You can do anything no matter what u did in past try to focus on today kya galti kari tumne past mai jo ab nhi krni hai learn from your mistakes tum aaj kya kr skte ho us chij ki pane k liye thoda dard hoga par end mai sab worth hoga.

I always admire kanish kataria.. Ki life mai sab kuch karna h.. Apna aaya tyari kiya aur leke nikal liya.. Nhi bhi hota selection toh ek attempt aur deta.. Fir apna US mai Masters karne nikal leta h.. How clear mindset he actually have.. Upsc se koi emotional attachment nhi jaise IIT PMT waise upsc. Just a exam... Hoga toh theek nhi hoga toh theek... But study very hard as much as ur potential toh do maximum..

Truly related to advice 3 (luck). I loved watching Nat Geo and Animal Planet during my early college years. During the prep, this peripheral knowledge helped me a lot in questions pertaining to bees, orangutans, snakes and what not. 😁

Sir. I think the art of saying no.is subjective..if u r consistently putting efforts then u can take a break of 1 or 2 days nothing bad in this..and in thise days u can go for sports,party , photoshoot,etc..and come back to your study ..in thqt way u ll never face depression and anxiety..

Before 2013 UPSC could have been cleared by putting more energy to optional but after 2013 after the introduction of 4 GS paper, the case becomes time consuming

yeah. one of my known is an IIT passout of 2016 batch. He has degree in CS. it took him 6 attempts to finally clear the UPSC in 2022. He was a sincere and studious guy. So, I think people should respect those who are taking time to clear this exam because it is really unpredictable. One can't be sure of success. Atleast not for the rank.
