So glad that Samir rode the bus home. I get the struggle. My child does NOT want to get ready, over stimulated- nervous to go to school and be out of his comfort zone at home, plus he hates any changes. It’s really challenging for us parents, but the kiddos have a hard time as we know. You are SO EVEN keeled when dealing with your kids! Bravo

Yes Samir does terrible with a disturbance in his routine. It takes a couple weeks for him to adjust and be okay with it. So I know the next two weeks will be a nightmare in the morning until he understands this is the new change

5:30 am take my shower, make my coffee and get my kids lunches and snacks together. 6:20 am wake my kids and help them get dressed. Give my daughter a pep talk case she has a hard time going to school in the morning 6:40 wake my high schooler up 7:10 head out the door to drop my 5 & 6 year old off. Pray for their courage and strength. They both are autistic and its a struggle to get them going in the morning. One is hard to wake up,the other is easy to wake up. One gets dressed with no problem, the other gets dressed and takes their clothes back off.

My don has always had some collection of something in his bed; i.e. crystals, toys, and now coins as well! You have your mornings so organized- something for me to achieve this year because mornings are NOT smooth here at alllll😩 excellent video Rockstar Mom

Recently separated mom of 4 start my new job (pharmacy tech) the same day my kids start school on Monday I am so stressed about the whole morning routine. I haven’t worked for 3 years and now I start the same day my kids start 😂😩

You got this mama! It’ll be tough at first but try hard to find a routine that works good for you and the kids and stick to it! It’ll make it easier! And remember to find those moments for yourself so you don’t lose yourself! ❤️

Firstly congrats on the new job. I’m a bit nervous too because I start a new job when the kids start school n I’m really anxious. But we are moms n we always make it through. I live in a traffic filled area to get to work. Mom of 3, so 2 in school and one at the day care( that’s two different location). Praying for the best this term.

Mornings are rough lol! Lakin is the hardest to wake up lol I think he laid there for another 30 mins until he heard me yell upstairs then he got up and dressed 😂😂

Amber, I understand Samir being overstimulated in the mornings to get on the school bus 🚌 My daughter is 17 now & still hates to ride on a school bus. 😂 She told me that it’s TOO LOUD.

Lakin is the hardest one to wake up! I have to yell at him a few times to get moving lol he’s not a morning person at all and he’s the first one in bed every night too ironically lol but struggles getting up

Hey Amber! Love your morning routine. Its so realistic. I am going to need to figure out one too. My son start school this Monday August 21. We are also in the process of moving on Aug 31. Then I will be staying with my sister for 5 days until my place is ready Sept 5 to move in to. Then we have to deal with that mess and trying to keep a school routine and unpack. Pray for us Lol. I happy Samir road the bus home are you going to try to keep it that way or see what he adjust to best.

So excited for your move! Can’t wait to see pics!!! I think we are going to continue letting him ride the bus home but be picked up in the mornings by the van. Even at daycare the drop offs were the toughest he just really struggles with it in the morning so it’ll take time.

My almost 3 year old is non verbal autistic he is so picky and girl his traumas are so out of control it’s so hurtful to me I can’t do anything for him I have a behavior therapist involved well they start Jan 4th

Hi! My daughter is 15 and she makes her own lunch or sometimes she gets lunch at school. My son is 11 and he gets lunch at school. He is also a very picky eater! Drives me cray sometimes 😠. My son goes back Aug 31 and my daughter goes back after Labor Day...

It drives me crazy too lol! Lakin is probably the best eater out of the 3 he eats wayyy more than the other two! Samir comes in second he’ll at least try foods! Tank is a different story 😂😂

Enjoyed seeing your routine! Love your kitty! I have two boys, ages 13 and 9. We all wake up at 6am and I give my 13 year old a bath. (He has autism and has become more independent, but this is one thing he is struggling to do himself. He is afraid of getting shampoo in his eyes.) My 9 year old watches KZbin until the bath is over and then he takes his bath. I go down and make breakfast for both of them, and make my 13 yo's lunch. My 9 yo eats school lunch. By then it's about 6:45. The boys eat breakfast in fron of the tv and I go upstairs to layout my big boys school uniform. The 9 yo usually picks his own outfits. Then I go get dressed and put on my makeup. While Im doing that the boys finish eating, brush their teeth and hair, my 13 yo squeezes in some piano scales, and we meet downstairs at 7:20. We get in the car, and say the Lord's prayer together. My husband and I are separated, so I take the 9 yo to his house and he walks him to school. I then drive my 13 yo to a special school for kids with learning differences about 20 minutes from home, and he practices his singing because he is in the school rock band. Then I just go home and either nap or do my studies. 🙂🌄

The van will probably be better for him because it's less kids my daughter had to take the special need bus a few years until she was ready for the regular bus . And she's a picky eater as well .

My same thoughts! They wanted to try it because they thought him riding with his brothers would help but I knew it’d be tough for him because there’s way too many kids and him being non verbal makes it harder for him!

About 9:30 now! I was doing 8-4 but adjusted my hours so I could get them on the bus in the mornings so my mom didn’t have to deal with the morning craziness
