Nice effort! I know I’m just a casual person. I have a few nice tote bags, but I found myself never reach for them because I’m constantly worry about them getting destroyed through wear and tear. After a few years, I gave those tote bags away and just kept my backpacks. So much more practical or a small cloth side bags. No more leather bags, too heavy, and too much headaches to maintain.

I think a neutral small but with enough to fit you essentials for casual occasions when you want to be hands free (theme parks, festivals, etc.) are a must in every woman’s bag collection. My personal favorite is the Longchamp Foullone leather crossbody. I have them in black, off white and cognac. They are perfect…still very clean and elegant looking for strolling around at a great price point. 😊

I used to like back packs, but in warm weather my back was wet from perspiration, and i didn't like it,so i got rid of it.Tote bags like the nevefull of Luis Voiton are great.

So I should get rid of my caviar Chanel Duma? Worse than just being a backpack, it is also (clutch your pearls ladies) PINK. As far as neon goes some of the bags shown as "neon" were perfectly wonderful bags especially the Hermes Lime Epsom Birkin. A woman would have to be color blind and fashion impaired to find that bag difficult to wear, and a red bag is practically a fashion staple. I would take that red Birkin off her hands in a nanosecond. If you have good fashion sense you can pull off styles that others might find challenging, like a Bao Bao by MIYAKE ISSEY. I have one in bright Mondrian inspired colors, that I love. Last time I wore it was to an outdoor neighborhood potluck. I paired it with trim fitted cropped white jeans, a sleeveless, cotton blend blue and white striped blouse with a French tuck and black Marni flat sandals embellished with large crystals. I felt very pretty.

Agree with all of these. However until my kids were all grown I never had any interest in a handbag over $50. Then flush with kids out of college cash I bought a brand I considered luxury and loved it! Now have about 7! Loving them. But perfectly fine to pick a nice looking classic style less expensive brand when you need to.

The only bag mistakes a woman over 50 is at risk of making is accidentally leaving it in the car or perhaps allowing her teenage daughter to borrow her vintage Judith Leiber to homecoming. Besides this is all terrible advice. Neutral colors from head toe look boring and uninspired. Also a bright red Hermes Birkin (the one the robot claimed to find trouble matching it to any of her outfits) is the perfect thing to wear with a neutral look. I would love to take it off her hands. Also red bag is so versatile it practically a neutral. It is the most popular color bag after black. Also a neon bag like the Hermes Birkin in lime Epsom leather shown in the video, would work well with Summer neutrals like khaki, white and navy in the Winter it would look good with black. Please don't take this faceless bot's advice.

Lol, why do you care what other people carry? If it works for them, how do you know if they are not teachers who need a backpack to keep all their materials and homework? What if they are musicians who need to carry stuff around? You judge them too? I think there are all kinds of bags for all occasions. Not everyone is meant to carry tote bags for all occasions satchel don’t work for everyone. Leather and structure material is so heavy, women over 50 have lots of shoulder and joints problem. Heavy bags are just not appropriate for them. Clutch? Only works for evening out of special occasion.

You are right. Backpacks are for hiking. At any age. Backpacks are totally out of place in cities and more specially in public transportation, as you hit people as soon ad you turn around.
