Thank you for the “you pack it in you pack it out” reminder because many forget. Got to go check it out and look for Arch’s and moves locations. Enjoy the video and tips on visiting the park especially camping info because if it’s full of people it takes away the enjoyment for me.

Thank you Tim! If we can get just one more person to clean up these areas it's a win (hopefully many more though). It is such a beautiful area. If you have a high clearance vehicle you can get further away from any crowds. 😁👍

You should stop by next time. As for the tent, it is a tent on top of a cot. It is the Teton Vista (2) for 2 person. The tent sits on 2 (two) Teton Universal Camping Cots. They do have the vista for 1 person. If you go with the 1 person tent, you only need one cot. We have the links below for the cots and the tents in case you're interested. Hi, it used to be. However, with the surge of people during the pandemic, the BLM has installed new rules. Starting in the fall of 2021, camping outside of developed campgrounds in the Alabama Hills will be limited to areas shown on this map and marked with a campsite marker. There were discussions of free camping permits as well, however, i don't think it's required yet. www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/docs/2021-09/Designated_Dispersed_Camping.pdf

Will regular fwd cars make it out there? Or does one need one like yours/off road vehicle?
@LiveThatAdventure

You should be able to drive on the main road. There is washboard so it might be bumpy but it should work. The side roads are quite a bit more rugged though and cars wouldn't make it

@@m6n15 You would be fine on the main roads. The main road appears to be maintained and the only thing that you will have to deal with is some washboard. You might struggle on some of the side roads. Just keep your eyes peeled and know the limitations of your car and you should be fine :)

Wide angle. 50mm matches your eye. I camp at Independence on creek at campground. Foothill Road is off Onion Valley. Shepard Pass TH. Campgrounds at bottom of Onion Valley road too. And up top. Its amazingly busy compared too 2010. Whole Eastern Sierra. Carson Reno LA. Pile in. Top of last hill is sweet. Road is crap. If someone else is up there you are neighbors.

NICE video! But the Alabama Hills' movie history actually began around 1919, with a Jack Hoxie western, Lightning Bryce. Dozens of movies were filmed there before Gene Autry's Boots and Saddles. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_shot_in_Lone_Pine
