Could you elaborate a bit on "loud noisy toys"? I'm asking because we do have a drumset and a piano at home and both are quite loud. My son is 14 months old and ever since he was about 5-6 months he LOVED banging on the piano keys and later also discovered the drums. I don't think he ever spent a prelonged time at any of these, but of course I am wondering if it could have potentially damaged his little ears...

Great Question! Musical instruments are really fun and can be a learning experience for babies and toddlers - I love the ones without batteries (such as a simple shaker or tambourine, or drum and singing song with baby / demonstrating a beat or how to use them to baby) or if they are battery powered; preferably ones that don’t just automatically play songs unless baby does something to make the sounds - like hitting a drum for example or pressing/banging a piano key to hear a sound. When looking at these types of toys I try to look for one that requires them to experience “cause and effect” so… “if I hit this, this sound happens” VS. a toy where parents/caregivers turn the ON switch or button ON and it automatically plays without baby having to do anything. & if the latter describes one of the toys your son loves then it’s just important to remember to keep play time with these toys in moderation and switch up his play time/alternate with some other toys that require him to practice that “cause and effect!” I hope this helps answer your question! 😊
