Alright, let me give my thoughts to this in the order of how you showed them. 6. Zoas -Love my Rastas. Also love my Stargazer Zoas. 5. Scolys - No scoly, sadly. 4.Acans/Micromussa Lords - Have three, all fat and pretty. One is the oldest coral in my tank. 3. Monti Caps - Love Monti Caps, might buy another one soon, like a Flower Petal. Or another Starburst, as my current one has not been doing so well since I moved everything out of the leaky tank to the current 29 gallon. I am giving it time though, as only half appeared to die out, so I am hoping the other half lives as it was getting nice with a ton of plates previous to the move. 2. Cyphastrea - Don't have one yet. 1. Acros - Have two, Pink Passion and Palleta Tricolor. Might move the Tricolor to a new spot, or just get another Acro. lol. Also no shout out to Duncans or Euphyllias? Or Mushrooms??

Great video, but just having gone through first 9 months of a new tank and adding montipora, I think it’s very important to stress the importance of keep Phosphate and Nitrate levels in check. I’ve caused various problems due to these levels being too high/low.

I started a tank about 2 months ago. Everything is doing well, except my cyphastrea died rather quickly. I'm not sure why, but it always had a bit of skeleton showing in the middle of it.

I get your idea and facination of these corals and understand why you always one to have speciments of them in your tanks. But isn't the idea of having the same types of corals a bit meh?

That's a fair point - progression and change is what keeps the hobby interesting. This video is really just supposed to give ideas as to what corals people might want to consider, based on what I think are the most interesting corals 🙂

I'm starting my first tank 60x40x40cm. Watching this would you recommend I light that with a couple of Orphek bars or a kessil? the Evergrow seems like it would be to big. As you say I would rather spend less on the light and more on corals so the most budget friendly option that will give good pop and growth would be good.

@ReefDork
@ReefDork 4 жыл бұрын
You can get a 40x20cm Evergrow for that tank. Kessil are fantastic but not cheap and Orphek bars don't ramp up and down so they're better as a supplemental light, rather than your only light. If you get the Evergrows, it won't be the limiting factor in keeping corals.
